Question is ... why do you want to take it off ... there's nothing for the user underneath !! However, it's simply two T20 kext socket screws on the top cover - undo them, make sure the carrying handle is up and just push the bobbin winder lever in and the cover will come off - easy !

How do I remove the top on a Bernina 807 in order to chnage th elong belt ?

V-Belt replacement 801/801 Up Machines

Only the belt cover needs to be removed for this belt change. This is done by removing the three screws on the end/belt cover. Loosen the 5mm Allen socket head screw below the step pulley to relieve the belt tension. Remove the lower motor belt. Lift the step pulley and slide off the hand-wheel, (assuming that you have already removed the release knob and clutch ring).

Additional top cover removals 807/801 Minimatic machines

Early 807 machines had two expansion nipples in the top cover that fit into receptor holes in the upper arm frame. Simply pull up the top cover.

Very late models may have a push button latch mechanism, same as on the 801 machines except those fitted with carrying handles, i.e. 801 Sport, 810 machines.

This is accessed by opening the light cover and finding an aluminum knob in the upper left hand corner of the upper arm frame. Push this in and the cover will release. Lift off the top cover.

How do you open the electronic foot pedal for the Bernina 1630?

The foot control function for a motor run condition is variable from 4k ohms to 0 ohms with full depression of the foot control top plate. Heeling back on this control makes a 10k ohms signal for needle down function.
To remove the top cover, peel back the vinyl top covering to expose a single hole above each of the two plastic axle or hinge pins located on each side of the top cover. Insert a pin punch (or other tool)
appropriate in size through the hole, placing the pin end against the hinge pin and pry/pop out the hinge pin. Pull out the hinge pins and remove the cover. Reverse the process to assemble the cover. To insert the barbed vinyl projections on the bottom side of the vinyl top covering, moisten the projections with a little KY jelly and reinsert into the holes in the top plate.

Can't take top off Singer 6215c, because levers on the front and bobbin winder on the top are in the way. What am I not seeing to do?

Rest assured, there IS a way to get it off! However, in your case, I would purchase the service manual for your machine; it will describe how to get the sides and top off, and in which order they should go. For instance, It's possible that before you take off the top, you have to take off one side. You can purchase it for a nominal sum; has a great many of these service manuals, and if they don't have it, they can order it for you.

How to remove back cover on bernina 830 record

.... there is no back cover - it is part of the metal frame 'housing'. You can remove the base, the top cover, the end cover (handwheel end), the cover on the freearm. You can access the spool pin fixing by taking off the top cover.

Hi, do you know where on a Bernina 1008 I can undo the top cover to clean the inside and get a ball thread out? I have worked out out to clean the bobbin area now I would like to clean the top...

Open the front door and, looking at the insides with the door hinge on the left, up inside, slightly to the left is a small shiny knob. If you press the knob, it releases a catch in the middle of the top arm and the whole cover will just come off. Replacing is just a question of pressing it back in place and the spring-loaded pin will retain the cover in place. There are no retaining screws.

Bernina 730 Can't open top cover !

The problem is that of a stuck piston detent on the pattern selector support that snaps the top cover closed.
  1. Open the light cover
  2. Apply pressure with thumbs on the bottom edge of the top cover on both the right and left sides of the cover. The cover should pop up...Too much pressure on the left side, (if this thing is really stuck) and you might break the top cover at the thread tension slot. Be careful here....
  3. Add a drop of acetone (fingernail polish remover) to the piston detent and work it free by pushing it back and forth. Avoid getting any acetone on the painted surfaces of the machine.
  4. Continue to work free, repeating with a few drops of acetone, and wipe clean. Don't oil this part. It was a petroleum product combined with a galvanic process (aluminum and steel) that caused the problem in the first place, not to mention age.
  5. Use DTE Heavy Medium oil rather than a white or clear oil when you lubricate your machine. White oils are unstable and will oxidize (decay) much more quickly. Also avoid 3 in 1 oil and stuff like WD40....very bad....
  6. Oil 1/2 a drop on those prescribed areas. Too much oil is more harmful than not enough....
  7. Contact your Bernina dealer for this oil.

I have a Pfaff 7570 and I would like to adjust the thread tension. Most of the time when embroidering it is set at 1 or 0...and never higher than 3-4. Also I can't get the light bulb end out. it broke...

Lift top cover. remove top cover (flat springs on each end of cover - move one with your finger and top will come off. Lift handle. Look to right of handle end over the head. There is a screw there. LOOSEN screw and front cover will slide away from head. Bunch up a paper towel or napkin and press into broken bulb socket and turn same counter clockwise to get bulb socket out. Good Luck!
