Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

BLACK SCREEN I have a canon power shot camera. I was in the middle of taking photos and the screen went blackish purple and flickered white lines. What happened and how can this be fixed?

    I have a Canon PowerShot A75 digital and I can't take pictures with it. The screen is dark with lines running through it. I've changed batteries....same result. I have only used the camera on about five different occasions and is not left in hot humid areas. It is stored in my house at all times.

    i want to cahange the software of my camera and i connected it to the computer and o downloaded the software from the internet but i cauld not transfere the software from the internet to my camera. How can i do that please?

If it is Canon A75 camera then its problem of bad CCD imager and this part needs to be replaced.

Lcd screen flickers in photo mode


If your Canon A85 shows distorted image in live view (camera mode) then its known problem of ccd imager chip failure. Check below image.
canon offers free of cost ccd imager chip replacement in A85 model.

The image veiwing window is mostly black, with horizontal


It sounds like your CCD image sensor is bad. Canon has issued a world wide technical notice regarding this, and will repair it at no cost if this is determined to be the problem, regardless of warranty.

canon has a recall on this camera. call them and they will send you a box to send it back. If you are one of the lucky ones the will send you a canon s5is back...really nice camera

Can the lcd screen be replaced?


i have the same problem here. i sat down on my camera Doh! It need a new LCD screen, for sur, and i have a line whit a black/purple spot on the LCD. I open my camera and i separate the screen from the other part (white light) and i search instruction to continue the repairing, i can send photos of what it's look like, well im searching further instruction to replace the LCD screen.

Shooting mode will not operate


Your camera has a defective CCD imager. Please return the camera to Canon in New Jersey and they will replace the CCD at no charge to you. This is a known issue and should be covered under extended warranty. Good luck my friend. Joe Weibel customelectronics.org
