Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

Emachine T3624 desktop PC won't turn on?

When I press the button, nothing happens. I thought it might be the power supply so I replaced it, but still the same problem. The little green light on the mother board is on but that's it. Dead in the water...

When you push the button does it feel normal? I have the same machine and the cheap plastic button wasn't making good contact with the switch behind it, that caused me to have the same problem.

Are there any fans turning in the computer?

Do you have the schematic to the motherboard to determine if the power button is at fault?

I can guarantee 100% you have a bad motherboard. I have seen this exact problem with hundreds of E-machine PC's (especially your particular model).

What happend is the power supply went bad and took the motherboard with it, e-machines use very cheap OEM powersupplys that do not have any fault protection to protect the motherboard from damage if the power supply gets a surge or other damage.

You should not waste your money repairing the hardware in this PC, i would buy a new PC and transfer the data over.

I have an Emachine W6409 Desktop, it was turned off(proper shut down) after an hour or so, pressed the on button, nothing happened, power supply was replaced, attempted to turn on and again nothing...

It sounds like you dont have the motherboard/case wiring input properly, without a specific diagram of your computer, i cant really tell you what to plug in, but your computer could have come with the correct wiring guide.

Unplugged power button from emachine t3624 forgot how to

If you can not see a "+" and "-" sigh on the connector as well as on the motherboard, then try it both ways. If you get it wrong the first time, it will not harm anything, just plug it in the other way if it does not work. Good luck!

Emachine T3624 will not power up

Emachines are notorious for having faulty power supplies. If your lucky you just need to replace the power supply. I've seen a lot of them where the power supply also fried the motherboard.

Please don't forget to rate this solution.

Pushing the start button and nothing happens on my emachine T2984

I think your power supply has gone bad and will need to be replaced. You can get a 500 watt power supply for about 60 bucks and you can replace it yourself. very easy

Hope this helps
