I have had this issue with SCART, PAL/NTSC incompatibility, and S-video, all can be put down to wiring or processing issues, i.e. what video signals the equipment is actually capable of. I have never heard of component video doing this. As long as you have green to green red to red and blue to blue I can only suggest it is a NTSC/Pal issue. Can you clarify what products you are connecting

Black and white picture with red lines vibrating with sound.

More info would be nice. Are you using HDMI or Component cables. If it is component cables (red, blue, green for video white and red for audio) Check your red and blue connection. Green alone will give you a black and white picture.
If you are using an HDMI cable, replace the cable to see if this changes anything or if you have another tv swap cables to see if problem stays with tv or moves to another tv.

Turned my tv on and for some reason the DVD source is in black and white and controller not workin for it, TVs colour for other outputs and controller works only DVD that doesn't .

If you're using component cabling (red, green, blue cables) a black and white picture will occur when only the green cable is plugged in.

If you're using HDMI cabling, try a different HDMI port and see if your color comes back.

If not, unplug the set from power for a few minutes, plug it back in and see if problem persists.

If you still have the same problem, check the DVD player on another TV. If it shows color on a different TV, then your TV will need a replacement digital board which we can check availability on once we have a specific model number. If it's black and white on a different TV, then you have a problematic DVD player.

Tv broadcasts in color, but dvd broadcasts in black and white is this a fault or a feature and how can i resolve it

It would all depend on what type of cable you are useing to connect the dvd to the tv.With component cables if you have the blue input in the red or any of the three colors mixed up then it could cause a black n white picture also if you place normal a/v cables into the component slot then you also might get black n white have seen alot of people put the yellow cord into the green female slot of the component input of the tv instead of the video in slot. If you have HDMI an a blu ray make sure you got a high speed cable with at least a rate of 10.2 Gbps or faster should not result in black n white but you will not get the picture clarity u should be getting an it also may cause screen blur or drag on fast moving pictures

Flashing / ghosting with Bose Lifestyle V30

I recommend you switch from using HDMI cables to using component (R/G/B RCA-style) cables. HD picture is superior through component cabling, and solves several HD picture issues. Component cabling from your devices should eliminate your problems.

I hope that helps.

Lcd tv hookup

Ive got 3 samsung tv's (lcd, plasma, DLP) and I use HDMI cables on all of them. Its the only way to get the full potential out of the tv. When you use the red/white/yellow RCA cables the signal is anolog aka "old technology". Component cables are good but HDMI is the best. HDMI is a digital signal and thats what all the components that go with the tv should be run on. If your dvd player does not have an HDMI output I would suggest getting one that has that output. As for the cable box most require you to upgrade to digital cable in order to get one with an HDMI output. If you dont want to spend the money on new components and run what you have now the picture will stay mediocre at best. Good luck hope this helped

Hooking up from hd receiver to hdtv ready projection tv. what cables do I use? vga or rca component red, blue, green and sync white/black? My hd receiver has output of :hdmi, rca component, s-video ,...

This particular television puts you in a tough bind - you can use Component cables in AV-1, but you won't be able to get HD. Or you can use the Component cables in the right-most component slot (AV-4), but since your HD Receiver probably doesn't have V/H Sync connectors, you may get a rolling picture. Try the component cables in the right-most slot - if the picture doesn't roll, you're in business.

Once again, I doubt that your model # is a 60pp9202, since that model doesn't have a VGA or DVI slot. If the picture rolls after trying the above, you will need to purchase a HDMI-to-DVI-D cable and hook it up from the HDMI output of your HD receiver to the DVI slot (that looks like a VGA slot) on the back of your Philips or Magnavox.

No Picture on HDMI using Philips DVP5992.

You can try out by connecting the CVBS (Yello) out from player to TV and connect HDMI out from Player to TV. Goto CVBS input on Sony TV. Select set up and you should get the HDMI Video options availble. Try to change the resulution and check for Video on HDMI source.
Which disc you were playing PAL or NTSC? PAL should work for Europe.

42 inch proscan lcd

If you use the connections for DVD you must use all of them.If you are using the standard yellow, white, and red connectors connect them to the connections listed as video and not the DVD titled connectors. But my advise is get an up converting DVD player and use a HDMI cable to get the best picture with out having to brake the bank buying a Blue Ray. I once connected a DVD player to my TV in the same fashion before finding out it only gives you a purplish black and white picture. Up converting DVD players can be bought around 30 dollars and up. A 6 ft HDMI cable will cost around 15 dollars. This way you will be getting the full effect and great picture your TV can produce.

you really cant convert to component. it defeats the whole purpose of upgrading your tv. with your tv you should be using hdmi to connect all your devices your cable box should deffinatly have one. any time you connect component to something else you will get black and white hdmi is totally digital where as component is still analog pluse you dont need audio cables with hdmi its just one digital cable
