Does it fill with water to the correct level? The water pressure switch lets the machine fill to a certain level and the stops the water coming in, then the control board should start the agitation.
If this is the machine with just a knob for the wash cycles, and one button to start the wash cycle, you will have to replace the timer. There is no reset that I know of.
If you can hear the motor humming during the spin cycle, it could signal a defective motor drive. It's possible for the motor to fail in just one direction, which may be why you only hear it some times.
Fl stands for flooded. Either your pressure switch is bad or plugged in the tubing from the tub to control panel or the sensor is bad. But check and make sure the water is draining or pumping out like it should, if not the problem may lie in your drain pump or hose.
One looses touch with all the codes available, but normally if washer stops mid cycle its due to a blocked or faulty drain pump. OR incomming water is to slow or defective inlet sensor. Switch off and start from the beginning. See if you can get machine to drain by moving the timer etc. If not, rectify pump problem. Take note where in the cycle the problem arises.
Hello, welcome to Fixya.
Since many manufacturer's use there own unique error codes, i.e. F06 on some may indicate a faulty motor, others may indicate a faulty pump for example.

Trigger: Door lock monitor switch in door lock mechanism unable to communicate to control board the door is locked.
Action to be taken: 1.Check wire connections in harness leading from machine control board to door lock mechanism. 2.Check solenoid and door lock enable switch in door lock mechanism. 3.Replace responsible component.
If you need to open the door. Maytag's Neptune washer has a latch and lock on the door. If this lock fails to open when the cycle is finished. You can rescue your clothes by: 1) Remove the bezel from the soap/bleach/fabric softener dispenser. 2) Locate the red cord near the right front corner of the dispenser opening. Pull on this red cord. This will unlatch the door so you can rescue your laundry. Then call for service.
"FL" is an over fill indication. Unplug the machine first (if you haven't tried that already) in an attempt to clear. If the problem persists, check all connections going to your control board, which is located under the control panel. Take them off one at a time and look for any contacts that may be corroded or dirty. This could be an indication that you have a bad control board, or a pressure switch that is starting to malfunction. Let me know if this helps.
