It would be a good idea to have the machine serviced to see if
it's a mechanical or computer problem

SOURCE: manual from brother listed sewing machine

I believe these are the UL code and serial number. If there is a display band of decorative stitches on the front of your machine look on the bottom right of that panel. If the number there is a VX-920 there is no manual available for it BUT you can use the manual from the VX 970 which IS available. Do a search for that model manual in Spanish and you should find one.

Brother pc8500d will not work

DOE'S THIS MEAN THAT WHEN YOU TURN THE SWITCH ON THERE IS NO RESPONSE AT ALL? IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM CHECK THE OUTLET BY PLUGGING IN SOMETHING ELSE. IF IT WORKS TRY TO SLIGHTLY BEND THE PLUGINS FROM THE SEWING MACHINE. MAKE SURE THE OTHER END IS ATTACHED VERY WELL. IS THE LAMP WORKING? IF YOU HAVE NO RESPONSE AND YOU ARE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ELECTRICITY AT THE SEWING MACHINE YOU MAY NEED TO TAKE YOUR SEWING MACHINE TO A PROFESSIONAL TO HAVE A SWITCH OR POWER SUPPLY REPLACED. GOOD LUCK.

Embroidery unit on Brother pc8500d will not work

Hi Sharon,

That was my first "Convertible machine" I had the Baby Lock version. Exactly the same in every way, except for the name badge.

Make sure you have the "data door" open (revealed after the tool tray free arm section is removed.) and the "Feed Dog" Switch is "down for embroidery". If any of the connection tabs/pins on the "embroidery attachment" are missing or bent/broken off. the embroidery arm will not work properly.

With this old of a machine, look on EBay for external parts and things you need instead of seeking repair. Timing adjustments, and other machine maintenance can be done by most repair shops with a technician that repairs convertible embroidery/sew machines.

Put your machine name and model number in a search on youtube.com you will find a wealth of information there for your machine.

Took the back left cover piece off brother pc8500d and a piece feel out. What could this be

Sharon,
Always leave repairs of these delicate and complicated machines to the pros. " A Piece FELL out"? More than likely it's a broken part or part of broken part. Could be something that came unscrewed or ???
That's why the pros make the big bucks, we should leave the repairs to them.

When emroidering, the thread from the bobbin is showing through on the top embroidered pattern. Any suggestions

Make sure to use bobbin thread for machine embroidery, it is heavier and pulls the top thread slightly to the back of the design.

You could loosen the tension or use a double layer of stabilizer.
