SOURCE: CRACK LCD TV SCREEN

I had one broken a few months ago. I got a couple quotes.. it was about $200 less then a brand new one. I'd just buy a new one.
For the new TV I'd pickup a screen protector for it. My son threw a toy at my TV the other day and I nearly had a heart attack from the flashbacks. Thank God I picked up one of these a few weeks earlier. It stopped it. LCD screens really break easily as you know. http://www.tv-armor.com

SOURCE: Replacement front plastic screen

If you a refering to the protective screen, I would take the old screen and measure it.This is just a piece of plexiglass.Home Depot,Lowes or a local glass company should be able to cut you a piece for about $40.00-$60.00.If you were to order the original part # it would end up running you anywhere between $180.00-$300.00 plus shipping depending on what brand you have.As a technician I run into this issue all the time and have found that it is a far cheaper fix and equivlant to paying a higher price.Good luck!!

SOURCE: Sharp front panel replacement for 42" LCD t.v. (Black)

I just removed my sticker today, and the sticky adhesive would not come my tv either. I tried alcohol first and to that only worked a little. Then I even tried warm soapy water(thats what sharps customer service told me to do) but that didnt work. So I put a razor scraper inside a rag with soap and water on it and that put little scratches on my new shiny black bezzel which made me very mad. The scratches arent really bad but who wants that on a new tv. FINALLY THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED WAS THE WD-40 NO MESS PEN. YOU RUB THAT ON THE STICKY ADHESIVE THEN WIPE OFF WITH WARM SOAPY WATER, WORKS REALLY WELL ONLY DID IT 2 TIMES. TO BAD I DIDNT DO THAT BEFORE ALL THE SCRATCHES. IF YOU DONT HAVE THE PEN I THINK YOU CAN JUST SPRAY REGULAR WD-40 ONTO A RAG AND WIPE.

SOURCE: Samsung LN-R408D - No Picture

My Mom's LNR408D also had sound but no picture. I was able to fix it by soldering in a jumper wire across a blown (1.5A ???) SMD picofuse on the "T-Con" board.
Consider attempting this ONLY if you: 0) Know enough to avoid the potentially fatal High Voltage parts of the power supply board!!!
1) Are a fearless hackazoid 2) know what you're doing with a soldering iron and teensie SMD parts 3) are gonna throw the busted thing out anyway so you have nothing to lose and won't be sad if you screw something up.
4) Know enough to avoid the potentially FATAL High Voltage parts of the power supply board!!!!!

This board is at the top center under a close fitting RF shield. The suspect part was labeled "CP" on the board and marked with "P" on the part. It is visible above the right-center of the connector from the main board. An ohmmeter showed it as open, so I bypassed it with a jumper wire from connector VIN to the hot side of C13. One image shows the suspect part and the jumper in place.

The other shows the TCON board placement top-center (under its RF shield). With care, it seems possible to test the fuse and put the jumper in place without removing the shield. (Obviously don't touch anything else with the VOM leads!)

Thanks to ZORBUS and Steve's TV and Electronics for the idea.

Samsung TV (model UN40H6203AF) 40" LED. No picture, have sound. Flashlight test can see faint menu screen. Have replaced power supply & main boards to this point. Ideas as to what to do next?

Hi Terry,

If you can see the faint picture in flash light means the power supply and the main board is working. The real culprit is the backlight. Even one bad LED in the backlight will switch off the whole array. To repair this fault the panel has to be opened and the defective LED or LEDs are to be replaced.

This is a complicated, delicate and risky job and must be attempted by an expert only. You may end up damaging the screen permanently if you have not done it before and try to DIY.

Replaced DLP lamp on Samsung HLS5687WX, no picture and in a series of 3 lights on front, first one red others green?

That looks like an error code to me. The manual *should* tell you what that means. this site:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/HL-S5687W
has a manual if you don't have it.

This color strip is intermittent. It's a 50' Samsung led tv

it looks like the ribbon that is bonded to the panel is damaged. there are a couple of possibilities with that. its either burned or has become partially detached from its seating which can be countered by pressing on it. this happens over time due to warmth of the panel heating the tiny solder pins on the ribbon (this does require taking the tv apart, including the panel). if its burned, there is nothing you can do

I cracked the inside of the tv while moving, the screen itself is not cracked but the picture looks like a rainbow of ink is this repairable

I do not like give bad news but you describe a damaged panel, entire front screen unit, part if available is usually sold exchange(means old one cannot be damaged) if panel damaged it will cost more to replace than set did when new.

If you have any questions let me know, I am here to help.

My son hit the screen with something the screen looks like there is a hole in it and looks shattered but no visible marks on front screen .

The screen is damaged and not covered by warranty. You will most likely spend less replacing the TV than repairing this one.
