How can i fix this. Samsung wanted $160.60 to fix it.

Thanks, Ronnie

Thanks, actually I can buy this part at Sears Direct for $21.00 + S&H. Hope it just plugs in and does not need soldering.

The reason they wanted 160.00 dollars was because the static charge very possibly fried something on the mainboard in the unit meaning it needs replaced and there really is no repair for it. Only things you can try and probably already have are to unplug and let sit for 30 minutes or so and try powering it back up.

Sorry this isn't what you were hoping to hear, but if its a component on the mainboard there is nothing you can do but bring it to Samsung for service. Please leave positive feedback if this answers your question.

If you can get Samsung to tell you which board went out, you could order it and install it yourself.

I hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa,

Eric

It is due to the faulty electric ic component in the unit.it has to be checked by a meter to locaste the faulty component and replace that.

You shorted out the display with static electricity. so you would need to get a replacement board etc for the device which could cost anywhere from 40 to over 100 dollars.

The display is damaged. This is how this series dies. In some cases the receiver still works except you can't see the display. Samsung service center can repair it, nobody else.

Hi, I have Samsung HT-X50 connected with SWA-4000. It was working fine, then for somereason I had to remove and reinsert Tx card. After doing that SWA-4000 is not connecting to HT-X50. Blue light blinks...

You have to reset the connection:

With the home theater system off, press the 0-1-3-5 buttons in that order on the home theater's remote control.

Power on the home theater system.

With the wireless module on, press the [ID SET] button on the back of the wireless module for five seconds.

If your home theater continues to display rear check after you have tried the steps above, call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864). Have your model number and serial number on hand to set up service.

Hope this helps!

$38 part from Sears PartsDirect took about 30 mins to install.  Part # AH92-02673A Ay pcb-front.  There are actually 2 boards to this setup, I went ahead and replaced both but the power button side of the board has some wiring that requires you to remove the disc changer which is only 4 screws and 2 screws for the piece that holds the disc above the reader.
I couldn't find an easy way to get the knob off on the front it required me to force it, nothing borke but your replacing the board anyways..
