SOURCE: Headset has static

Perform a reset on the headset.  Hold down the mute button (the dial on the back of the headset needs to be pushed straight in), and at the same time hold down the call answer button until you see the green light on the headset blink a few times.  Release both the mute button and the call answer button.  See if it works now.  If it doesn't, try a re-subscription (should be available in the manual).

SOURCE: I am using a plantronics headset that I use

We're had customers call with similar issues. First, make sure your compatibility dial is set properly (located on the side of the base). If set incorrectly, it will make your headset inoperable. If that doesn't fix your issue, try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and then perform a subscription. Both steps can be found below:

SOURCE: Plantronics Voyager 500a bluetooth system.

The beeps mean it needs to be repaired or resubscribed.

If you are using a Cisco phone you could probably plug the headset base into the phone. If it is not you will still need your lifter.

SOURCE: On my new Plantronics S12

Unfortunately, the phone does matter. The S12 is designed to work with office style phones where the handset is just the mouthpiece, all other features located on the base. My suggestion is to get a phone of that style (you can find inexpensive ones at Wally world) and connect the headset following the instructions on this link for the Plantronics S12.

SOURCE: Plantronics S11 head set does not work: hooked up

The Plantronics S11 headset system is meant to plug into the handset jack on your phone not the headset jack. Check the connection on the S11 to make sure the handset jack is where it is plugged into at.

Here are a few suggestions from Plantronics if you are not getting a dial tone:

Make sure all cable connections are correct and firmly in place.

Pay special attention that handset cord is properly connected.

Ensure AC power adapter is connected and power is on.
Make sure you have pressed the headset button and the headset indicator is on.

Make sure the telephone handset is off-hook.

Adjust listen volume control.

Adjust the compatibility slide switch.

Ensure that the headset is centered on your ear.

Instructions for set up of... plantronics s10 head set and mic to a dsl box and also to use a magic jack.....I only have one phone line and am trying to figure out how this os done???any help would be very...

The S10 amplifier/headset system sets up like the Plantronics S12 system of which the user guide is included in the link below. As you will notice, it is designed to work with a telephone. It will not work as a stand-alone unit. To connect it to a dsl box, magic jack or any other line you will need a phone.

I have plantronics t10, i have been able to use it in the past, but tried to plug it in today and the base red light (on/off) lights up red, but no dial tone. none of the buttons work.

It might be that you have a cord plugged into the headset jack. Try looking at that, if that is not it, it may be the cords are not plugged into the correct spot. I am sending you the Plantronics user guide for the T10 headset.

If not on mute with my plantronics t10 headset phone then I heard a loud static hum. What can I do about this?

On this humming, you do not say if this is something new that has just developed or if this has been happening all along. Is this with a different phone than when you started?

First always unplug all the connections and start over making sure that the connections are located in the correct slots. If the humming is still present, the unit may have been damaged in some way. It does have a 1 year warranty. I would check this link for the Plantronics User Guide for the T10 headset that you have.

High pitched sound when attempting to use the headseat rather than the handset. I have tried all of the settings on the side of the desk moduel.

It sounds like it may be plugged into the wrong jack on the phone base. The cord from the S10 HAS TO BE plugged into the jack where the curly cord from your phone was plugged in. You can't use the headset jack, this will cause the high pitch sound you are hearing.

Set up my plantronics s12 exactly as stated in manual but it will not work. i can not get a dial tone or speak through it. please help

A couple of things, alright maybe three, you can try that may sound inconceivable but people do forget to check. First, make sure cords are in their right slots. Second, locate the best compatibility setting (slide located on port side of amplifier) and third, lift up the handset on the phone (it's okay, you're not alone if you forgot this step). If you're still having problems and it's less than a year old, contact Plantronics at 800-544-4660 x5 x5538 for warranty replacement.

Headset not working

The fine wires in the cord casing do break easily. If your RJ9 connection is loose, then the brass contacts are not making good contact inside the T10 base. Not many options, unless you can get the RJ9 clip repaired, but to get a new system.
