Youneed to plug in the phone to the computer while the computer is off. Leave it plugged in, then turn on your computer. This will load the drivers from the phone needed for the computer to recognize it....

Mine did the same thing. so what i did was, took out the micro sd card and put it in the card reader. if yours came with one. the computer then recognized it as a mass storage device. u can find it in you my computer section. then downloaded music onto it, put it back in the phone. located it under memory card. then hit move and place it in the folder you want.

Switch the phone on, then connect. You should have 3 options; Mass Storage, Webcam and PictBridge. Select Mass Storage. Depending on your system on your PC will connect immediately or maybe (older model) ask for driver. Driver for mass storage is 'generic' so will install automaticaly. After that go to 'my computer' and there will be 2 (!!!) new 'drives', the first one the external card on your phone, the second one the internal drive of your phone.

My computer does not recognise my CECT i9 phone

Your computer "should" reconize this phone without any drivers. when you attach the usb cable it should come up on your phone a list of options mass storage, web cam etc. on your phone is where you would choose mass storage option. As for the Chinese see if this will help you.
This is a common issue which you should be able to correct by using one or more of the following methods;
1.) Change the E-Book reader option from the Main menu => Tools => E-Book reader => Options => Global settings => Encoding, change to "UCS2 (Unicode)"
2.) Globally set the phone to English by opening up the dialing pad and entering *#0044# and then press the call button.

here is an excellent sight for I9

Is the Cect I9/I68 Mac compatible?

Yes, you can connect the phone as a mass storage device via USB or bluetooth. Maybe there is even a PC suite software. Ask at http://chinamanuals.com - they a least have one for Windows systems.

GETTING PICS OFF MY I9 PHONE.

Try this. make sure your phone is turned off then plug the usb cable into both the phone and the computer. Next if a promtp screen doesnt come up on the computer asking which application you want to use go to your start menu on your computer. Then go to your My Computer, look for Removable disk K, click on that and it should show the folders in your phone, then right click or left click to do what you want to do with the contents of the folder.

Hi,

When this message show, it usually means there is some hardware failure somewhere. Try different USB ports...if possible try another cable. Also, check that the pins are fine in the connectors. I experienced this problem last week with a Nokia N95 8GB...the problem was a crooked pin inside the USB connector on the phone.
