My problem with this camcorder is that my computer does not recognize it. I bought it from Canada in 2004. I live in Ireland and have Dell Laptop bought in 2006. Has any one come across this problem before? All tricks have been tried!!!!!
The answer depends on a lot of things. If you plug your cam in and it doesn't make that happy plug and play sound, then it could possibly be your usb port. If your PC recognizes that a USB periphial has been connected but does not install the drivers correctly, then you should make sure that you have the right cam drivers for your operating system. If that has went correctly then there's one more test to see if your pc has recognized the camera. Go to my computer look at all of the drive letters for one that is not there whenever the camera is unpluggedc. If a drive shows up when the cam is plugged in, then it recognized your cam, especially if you can navigate to folders within that are labeled DCIM or RTAV.
