Question about Samsung DMT400RHS Builtin Dishwasher

1 Answer

Samsung Dishwasher can drain, but gives "drain error"

Samsung Dishwasher DMT-400 RHS (2 years old) gives a "drain error". It all started (bare with me) when I had to clean out the left side "brake case" and water level sensor when it was giving a "low water level" error. After I cleaned out all the junk that looked like mold an algae from a back drain caused by not having a high loop (oops) at the disposal, I thought I would be good. It looked like the 2 LED? water level sensors were so blocked with junk that it was relying on the metal prongs to stop filling. But now I get the drain error. I have removed every hose and have no kinks or blocks. I pulled off the drain pump and it spins. There is also a rubber check valve near the drain motor that tore off previously before all this, but it was mostly working with that removed last month. I thought it was a foreign object but since becoming intimately familiar with this thing, I realize it a poorly designed check valve. Even though it was torn, put it where it goes, but it doesn't help. I don't know if I broke something when I did my original clean out job on the left side. I can poor a gallon of water in and it will drain it out quickly but then does this ineffective 'surging' for a minute. It sounds like it spins the main motor 3 time, goes back to the drain pump that them displays the "drain error"code. It never tries to fill the tank with water, which seems weird. I've cover all the obvious stuff, btu don't know what it could be. Something is making the computer think it's not draining when it clearly can. Is my inlet valve broken? Thanks, Andy

It was the water sensor CASE SENSOR Part #: DD94-01006A. When I cleaned it out, I guess I lost the plastic float when I compared the new and old

Andy thanks for posting the part number, mine keeps filling then draining. then I get the 3 blinking lights low water level. I tried cleaning the gunk aswell and it worked once but now its doing it again. Hope it works

Sounds like it could be those same water level sensors you worked on before. Only now its telling the thing that there is water still standing in the unit. Try cleaning those sensors again and I know this sounds obvious but check all your conections.

SOURCE: My Samsung DMR57 Dishwasher gives me error code

Our unit started displaying code 9E after filling, draining and filling again. At the beginning it was enough just to restart it. Finally this trick didn't work anymore. Before calling service for out of warranty I decided to take the unit out of the cabinet and start it. Of course this didn't fixed the problem. Then i noticed where the water comes in and I took off the panel on the left side bottom. 366571e.jpg
Under the panel there is a white box that has a floater inside. The floater is pushing a lever that actuates a micro switch. I noticed that the lever wasn't moving as the machine started to fill in with water. The lever was stuck. An easy touch on the lever fixed the problem and the machine started working. 677e4ea.jpg
I will put back the washer for now but if it happens again in the next future i'll have to find a more permanent fix.

Do you hear the washer draining (into the sink drain) after it fills and should start washing? Check that nothing (sound deadener, etc.) is interferring with the drain valve lever arm.

SOURCE: I have a Samsung DMR57LF

Hi

The issue seems to be with the plastic part located on the connector that clips into the arm that is falling, if that is broke you have to replace it, in a 19 months old dishwasher I don't think that the arm can go bad. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Samsung Dishwasher model DW80F800UWS with Error code 5E or "SE" error code.

The 5E error code on this Samsung dishwasher means a drain error. Most often this is caused by a clogged drain hose, or some foreign object getting caught in the drain pump impeller. But it can also mean you have a bad ECS sensor. If this is Greek to you, then you should probably call a professional dishwasher repairman.

My dishwasher gives an E3 error

The E3 error code is not a defined error for this dishwasher. If you are sure it is E3 then best option is to give the controller a reset. This is done by

Press the Delay Start + Normal + Power keys at the same time for two seconds to enter Service Inspection Mode.
- "ALL" is displayed for the first three (3) seconds and then "t1" is displayed.

Press OFF at this stage. Do not attempt to run the inspection as this could damage the dishwasher unless you are familiar with the what each mode does.
If the Error E3 keeps coming back then call the Samsung technician.

After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Dishwasher starts then pauses and drains.

Fixed! I had the issue where the cycle would start, the KUDS30IXBL8 would hum 4-5 times and then drain. Plastic folk pieces jammed in the disposer. These instructions took a few minutes (only 5 screws and a couple clips) to figure out how to take it apart, and it only took 60 seconds to put back together.
