Question about Saeco Classico Espresso Machine
Have a Saeco Classico machine that made great coffee but now it has BURNT me, literally.
Problem is: Even after the espresso pump is in off position their is stem eminating from the where the brew basket would attach. IT comes in fits and bursts, like there was a damaged gasket leaking steam out of boiler.
Danger: Made a cup of espresso, left the basket on, went back 30 mins later to make some more. Unscrewed the handle and a burst of hot water and steam scalded my hand and shot grounds all over. Looks like a nice head of steam had built up.
QUESTION: What is wrong? Can it be fixed and is it worth taking into a service center. My max repair budget is $150.
I posted response and solution to similar issue see post below and comments :
YOU NEED TO LET MACHINE COOL OFF AFTER YOU TURN IT OFF OUCH!!
You can release pressure placing a cup under steam wand open slowly and partially while machine is OFF and let hiss out slowly. Then open cup slowly if you have to force it open DON'T. That PUCK sound can make you afraid of your machine can't it. I wont admit I haven't done that four or five times.

We have a Saeco Classico that worked very well when we first got the machine. Now the coffee is bitter and there is no crema in the shot at all. We tried changing grinds and tamping, nothing seems to work. Can you help? Thanks so much. We miss our morning coffee :-)
