Question about Fusion EN-AT1120 12" Active Tube Enclosure

Open Question

Cannot wire my 12" tube en-at112

I have just purchased a car with a wiring kit installed (power, ground, rca and remote) and I have a 12" tube lying around in my room. I'm just wondering what adapter I need and how to go about attaching the adapter as it is unlike most other amps. Thanks, Jack

SOURCE: AMPLIFIER PROBS

there are only three wires that control whether the amp powers on or not. battery, ground and remote. if any one of those are not hooked up correctly and securely then the amp will not turn on. the ground point needs to be clean to be good. and u might want to make sure none of the wires have a break in them

SOURCE: Subwoofer rumbling noise

check all your supply wiring's specially the one that is connected directly to the positive terminal of your battery, it has to be of enough gauge to supply your amplifier's wattage, and it is has to be properly grounded to the body of your car.

How to connect wires to amp

Most amps have 3 places where you need to hook up wires to power them. the 1st is a ground wire that at best is 1 foot long and it goes on the ground or negative 12 volt connection then a bolt on the car you may need to sand off the paint for it to work, 2 a RMT or remote wire that is normally in the middle of the power and the ground connections the remote turns the amp on and off so it needs to go to the remote wire on the radio or a ignition spot on the fuse box - turns on with key on and off when you turn the key off , 3 the power wire is hopefully large 4 gauge wire and goes to the + 12 volt plug on the amp this wire has a in line fuse and goes to the battery and to the amp only. RCA wires go from the radio to the amp and are round and just plug in with no screws some factory radios need a conversion kit you can get at walmart for RCA wires. the speaker wires have some sort of mark or line to tell you what to put were like if you put the line on a negative on the amp you need to put the line on the negative on the speaker box to or it will not bass and could hurt your amp. ask me if you need anything else :) and please rate :/

Jensen CD-510K hooking a 200 watt amp to it.Need to know what wires need to use to hook it up

rca cables for audio and a remote wire. just plug the rca cables into the plugs in the back of the deck and the remote wire (i suggest buying a thicker (speaker wire size) gauge wire since it allows you to get more power out of the amp) to the blue remote wire coming from the deck. you will also need an 8 gauge power wire (12 inches to 12 feet depending on where the battery and amp are) and an 8 gauge ground wire (no longer than 24 inches).

Can kicker 1000x1 amp detect if my speaker is bad and turn itself off?

The Kicker 1000x1 Amplifier does not turn off if their is an Open Line (blown sub) on the Speaker Terminals.

  1. Remove all Speaker Wiring from the Amplifier, leaving the Power, Ground, Remote, and RCA wires plugged in.
  2. If the Amplifier fails to turn on, check your Remote wire for power.
  3. If the Remote wire is powering up with the Head Unit (should be anywhere from 5-12 Volts), check your Power wire for +12 Volts, and check your Ground wire.
  4. If you are getting +12 Volts Power and your Remote wire is putting out 5-12 Volts but your Amplifier still won't turn on, it will need to be serviced.

I cant hook up my amp

Hello cesar199064,

These are the steps you required to install your amp and subs:

1) Purchase an amp wiring kit with 2 or 1/0 gauge power and ground wires.
2) Decide on a location to mount the amp where it will get proper airflow and will not interfere with operation of the vehicle. Closer to the battery is better. Decide on the location and install the sub enclosures.
3) Locate a place on the metal body of the vehicle within about 3" of your amp for the ground. Connect the ground wire to the amp ground terminal and to BARE METAL on the vehicle.
4) Run power wire from battery positive (+) using one of the amp kit ring terminals through a 100A fuseholder to the amp positive terminal. DO NOT install the fuse yet.
5) Run a "remote" wire from the remote turn-on lead (usually blue or blue/white) of your dash mounted head unit to the amp turn-on terminal. Run a set of RCA cables from the preamp or subwoofer outputs on the head unit to the amp inputs.
6) Run speaker wire, preferably at least 12-gauge, from the amp output terminals to your subs.
7) Check all of your wiring. Make sure that no insulation was damaged or peeled off during the running process. Make sure there are no loose strands touching adjacent terminals or bare metal.
8) Use a multimeter set to read "ohms" and test from the negative battery post to the amp ground terminal. You should read "0".
9) Install the fuse.
10) Turn on your head unit and listen to those big Kickers thump.
11) Adjust the amp settings according to your manual.

The best place I've found for in depth information on audio installs is The Install Doctor. You'll find step-by-step procedures, color photos, wiring details, and even the tools required. I recommend that you begin with the "tech docs" link and read through some of the PDF documents.

Hope this helps.

Ok, I am assuming this is the 600 watt amplifier?

DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY!!

Supplies needed:
- 8 Gauge power wire (long enough to run from your battery to the amp placement) WITH an inline fuse!!
- Depending on your stereo (if it has amp pre-outs or not) you will either need RCA cables (long enough to reach your amp from your stereo) OR a Line-Out converter AND RCA cables.
- The power lead that connects to your "REMOTE" line on your stereo (long enough to reach from amp to stereo - usually blue)
- A good ground wire ( long enough to reach a metal part of your car from the amp)

======================================================================
STEP 1: Find a spot to run the power wire from your battery - through your firewall and into your car - and then to your amp. (DO NOT CONNECT IT TO ANYTHING YET)
STEP 2: Remove your car stereo and look to see if you have PRE-AMP outs (RCA connectors for an amp on the rear of the unit)
A- if you do, GREAT.. proceed to step 3
B- if you don't.. you will need to get a LINE-OUT CONVERTER - what this does is converts the higher signals from your standard wires on your radio, to RCA style wires to connect to your amp.
B2- you will also want to buy a wiring harness kit for your stereo, unless you want to hack away at your factory wires.. (not recommended) - connect the harness kit to your factory wire harness, wire in your leads for the output converter, and run the other end to your stereo.*
*you will need to know which wires run to the speakers you plan to power with the amplifier
B3 - once the converter is properly connected - proceed to step 3
STEP 3: Plug the RCA cables into the stereo or converter, and run them properly from behind your radio to the amp but DO NOT CONNECT THEM YET.
STEP 4: Connect the REMOTE wire from your stereo to the same wire for your amp . (this enables the amp to turn on/off with your radio.. otherwise.. you will have alot of dead batteries)
STEP 5: re-install your stereo into the car.
STEP 6: Connect the RCA speakers into the INPUTS on your amp
STEP 7: Connect the REMOTE wire to your amp.
STEP 8: Connect the speaker wire from the OUTPUTS on your amp to the speakers you wish to power
STEP 9: Connect the POWER CABLE to the amp PROPERLY
STEP 10: Connect the GROUND CABLE to a metal part of your car (sheet metal, not just a bolt)
STEP 11: Connect the POWER CABLE to the battery cable
STEP 12: Re-connect your Battery
STEP 13: Start your car, and test your radio.

If you have any issues from here.. you need to re-check all of your connections.

System Remote Control Wire.

Wal Mart generally has 4g wiring kits for ~$40. Some of the kits contain everything you'll need to install your amp (including RCA cables, fuses and fuse holders).

How to instal my deck to a amp and sub

you would need rca cables, power wire, ground wire, and remote wire. it is easiest to just go to your local best buy or circuit city stores and buy the whole set in one package. rca's lead from your decks rca output jacks to your amp, remote wire leads from your decks wiring (blue remote wire that leads to your deck itself to give it remote) or any 12 volt source like where your fuses are located and it runs to the amp also, your power wire will lead from your battery to your amp, and your ground will need a good place somewhere in your car and be bolted or screwed to the frame of your car. this is how to intall your deck to your amp. i assume that you already know that wires will have to be under your carpet or kickboards and such however you run them. i think this covers the basics and i hope i have answered your question right, good luck
