Wireless router connected and can't play Pogo games

Since my husband installed our Belkin N Wireless router I have not been able to play on Pogo.com. I keep receiving a Network Timeout error. The error message I receive is

The server at game3.pogo.com is taking too long to respond.

Any insight or help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Can you surf the internet with no problem? If you can, then the site youre trying has a lot of traffic. Try again at different times of he day and see if things improve. Post info on your operating system, system resources, antivirus program and method of connecting to the internet for a more detailed analysis.

There may be a firewall encorporated into the firewall, and you need to allow that website permissions.

This coulld be any of these 5 issues:

  1. It is a problem with there server. This is the problem you have no control over
  2. It could be security settings on your router, check to see if there is a firewall on your router, you willl access this information by reading the manual and typing the IP address of your router the number will start like this 192.168.... and so on if indeed there is one disable it to see if this is the culperate.
  3. Your antivirus could be causing it
  4. windows firewall could be blocking it
  5. Try another browser like firefox
try these and if you are still having the same issue
we will go from there

I have a Belkin router. All of our PC's are working including my netbook. The only computer not working is my husbands MAC. Any solutions?

Check that the wireless adapter is correctly installed -- correct device-drivers loaded.

Check that the wireless adapter is not "disabled" (a slider switch?)

Try the wireless capabilities of the Mac at a "hot-spot" (Starbucks? Public Library?) to see if it can connect to *ANY* wireless network.

Run the Apple Software Updater, to ensure that OS X is properly updated.

Check that the Mac is connecting to the correct SSID, with the correct password/passphrase.

My belking keeps losing connection during games?

If your wireless you probably need to change broadcast channels on the router ( to the last channel) if its hard wired, you probably need to port forward the ip address for the Xbox

I have a Belkin Wireless router and I have a PS3

Actually you don't need to forward ports when playing online games. The router should automatically locate the ports for the game because it has UPnP function. Here's what you can do. Disable the port forwarding and DMZ that you set on the router. Look for the UPnP function of the router and disable, Save it. Enable it again, then save. Now power cycle your router. If you have Static IP on the PS3 network settings, try to set it first to automatic IP and automatic DNS.

Hope that helps.

Router

Can both devices be connected to the router and surf the web seamlessly? Do you have DHCP (router automatically assigns IP addresses) enabled or do you manually set your computers' IP addresses?
