SOURCE: Magnavox 42NF4398/F7 turns on, goes

Hello

Ok what i want you to do is a hard reset on your tv set just to see what happens, unplug your tv set from the wall for about 4 hours after 4 hours plug it back in and see what happens,if this procedure does not fix the problem then your problem is coming from either your tv sets backlight or the inverter circuits for the backlight.

The inverter circuits are the power supply circuits for your backlight. This circuits are the ones that feed the power to the backlight if they are faulty then the backlight will not work and can cause this kinds of problems.

Moreover the most common problem would be a bad backlight that is causing this problem and has to be replaced, but it is hard to say which one is causing this problem on your tv set, with out being able to troubleshoot your tv set.

My suggestion to you would be to take it to your nearest tv repair shop and get your tv set serviced, the backlight is a common problem and 9 out of 10 times it has to be replaced, but just to be on the safe side i would take it to a tv repair shop, depending on the tv repair shop it should not be more than 200 dollars or less to get your tv set up and running, but it depends on the tv repair shop.

SOURCE: I replaced an apparent blown fuse, TV still won't power on.

Most likely your power supply is damaged and will need to be replaced. Sometimes, power supply manufacturers add additional "fusible resistors" to provide additional protection.

It should be synchronized with TV using setup code. If you wish to get more details, check this site. Pull up previous posts there. Setup code list and setup proceedings to many popular brand remote controls are given. Three digit, four digit, five digits and two-digit code list are there. Check the site with patience. Surely you'll get a solution to your problem. Search the site by 'Timeslide' option. It will make search easy. Or, type in the brand name to your device into its search box, and press "Enter"

Toshiba Tv won't turn on

if the power light doesnt come on chances are a shorted component on the power supply has blown the fuse. If so replacing the fuse will most likley only result in the fuse blowing again. Replacing the power supply would be the best bet. You can get one from www.tvcircuitboards.com

The TV won't turn on. It is plugged in, but won't turn on at all. Is it fused?

It has a fuse and if the power light comes on and blinks a specific code that would be a error code.

This set weighs close to two hundred pounds, follow the power cord inside the set as it goes almost directly to the fuse which should be a 6.3 amp fuse----careful if its bad, it is a slow blow and special, a Radio Shack or Generic one the same amperage and type will blow for no reason, if its bad don't keep feeding it fuses.

Tv won't turn on power indicator light not lit

Hi,
As you mentioned the tv have problem with the power supply stage. Before suspecting for any intenal fault Chcek the following first. Remove the AC plug of the tv and connect the same in any other wall outlet. If then also it shows the same problem then its the powersupply board of your tv.
working on power supply board should be done by a skilled worker. Because there is risk of electric shock even if the power is disconnected. some of the capacitors will hold charge even if the power is not connected.

Here i have adde the link which will lead you the powesupply board.

Fuse

Hello!
Why do you want to replace fuse? Is your projector dead? In many cases just a fuse replacement will not solve the problem. if fuse is blown, good chance, that power supply has shorted components. still, you may try to replace the fuse with lower grade, first, and observe the behavior. If unit turns on and starts operate normally, then fuse blows, you may install the stock fuse. Means: it's just a fuse's issue. If it blows right away, don't even try to put regular fuse, instead. unit must be repaired, first. Power supply or ballast might be shorted. To locate a fuse, you must look around the unit and find a little door, says: fuse. it might have a screw or two holding it, might not. Look at the fuse, first: if it looks pulverized, don't even dare to replace it! it will blow again and make more damage to the unit. If thin wire inside is just torn, then follow the procedure, described above. If the fuse is ceramic, you won't be able to determine, how it blew. Look at the fuse's rating: it might be written on a fuse door, or on the fuse, itself. could be from 5amp to 10amp, depend on power consumption. Remember: first, install the fuse with 1/2 of value: i.e: 6amp-put 3amp first, etc. Good luck with your project.
Thanks,
Alex.

I have a Toshiba 26AV502R tv, was working yesterday and now it won't turn on? It's about a year old. What do I do to fix this?

the only thing you can try to do: unplug TV, let it "reset" for a minute or so, then plug it back in. If that won't help, means: surrender to repair service. for 1 year, even with 24/7 usage, there is a slim chance for "bloated" capacitors inside of TV's power supply, but quite a good chance of your main board failure. Now a days they quite compact, packed with high temperature producing IC chips, led-free solder, which has drawback of "fatigue" failure. Or, there might be power surge involved. In any case, except "lock up", appeal to TV repair service.
good luck,

LG47LH30 lightning took out several appliances. TV won't turn on or any lights at all - acts as if it is not plugged in. Should I even try to fix? Are there interior fuses?

The lightning has fried at least the power source of the tv. Even if you you replace the source there are big chances that other components/boards have been also damaged.
There is nothing you can do to it, take it to a repair shop to have it diagnosed professionally.
