SOURCE: GE Triton XL Dishwasher
My Triton XL soap dispenser still has a clump of soap after the cycle has finished. My glasses are left with a cloudy film, and my silverware is left marked with film on it. I have cut down on the amount of detergent, and have not overfilled. I have also tried using white vinegar as the manual states. Any suggestions? Thank you

SOURCE: Makes a funny noise
I had the same problem with my Triton XL Model # - GSD6660G02SS Dishwasher. I tried adding water, zip tied each wash arm (one at a time) and had no positive result. Then I noticed a notch on what is called the docking cone. It supplies water to the middle wash arm. When the upper rack is pulled out you can see the cone at the back of the washer. Anyway I put a rubber O ring on this notch and the noise stopped. I can't tell from the parts list if the O ring is supposed to be there or not. Maybe a GE repair tech can confirm this. Hope it works for you as it did for me.

I've had this problem too, and fixed it by cleaning the lower drain basket. But it could also be your pump or drain hose is clogged. To clean the drain basket, I removed the lower rack and spray arm. To remove the spray arm, turn it counter clockwise while gently lifting it up. There's a lock ring that will also need to be removed. (Remember how these parts come off and in what order.) There is a vertical tube that is attached to the upper and lower spray arms that is secured by a hex-screw that you will need to loosen and disengage from the lower spray arm. After this, you can remove the small protection grid then reach in and clean out the gunk from the basket. I ran a rinse cycle to see if it did the trick and sure enough, it now drains. By the way, I am NOT a professional.

The GE GSD5500 has a check valve in the rear of the unit under the FILTER FRAME that screws in. GE part WD24X10018.
The white rubber stopper wears out and lets water return to the tub!
Remove filter frame (4 screws) and unscrew the check valve to replace. Try appliancepartspros.com for part # AP2617344.
