SOURCE: i have a dynex
Major hardware failure - a component inside your tv has failed and it has sent the power source in protected mode. Normally the status light should have flashed/blinked an error code - if that doesn't happen then the defect is either in the processor of the tv or in the power source.
To find out which you must open the tv and check the power source (including the ballast) first - the most common problem there are the capacitors. Follow this to fix that
then check the output voltages. If everything appears normally then the processor has failed. In that case the only thing left to do is to replace the mainboard
All that requires at least a basic experience with electronics - you need to know how to solder. Otherwise you will need to take the tv to a repair shop.

This sounds like the TV has a good backlight but no video signal to the LCD. Additional diagnostics are needed to determine where the fault actually is. Most likely its the board but it could be the panel itself. You will need to track resistance between the parts and possibly the current as well to find the exact fault.
Some parts for the TV are available here: http://www.partstore.com/Model/Best+Buy+Company+Incorporated/Dynex/DXLCD3209.aspx . ShopJimmy.com may have parts from slightly used TVs of this model (QC and then damaged in shipping).
I hope this helps.

Sounds like you are missing your 5VDC standby voltage from the power supply. You either have a blown fuse or a defective power supply. Did this happen out of the blue or after a T-storm???
