Hi...I have a Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV 32FS120 that is very difficult to turn on. When I try to power it on the stand by timer light blinks 9 times then stops the repeat for another 9 times. Aventunally the TV does come on after repeated pushs of the power button. Can some please tell it this something that I can repair or do I need a service person...Thank you in advance...David
This model does not have a G board. I will post when I have this solved.
Ok, I have fixed the problem on my daughters TV. I checked all voltages pulled the caps from the zero crossing circuit. Everything was good. The problem with this model is the large parts due to poor wave soldering. The repair is free: locate the transistor Q605. Using a small wattage soldering iron melt the solder and add a little solder to all the large parts in the area. Small wattage = 15 to 30 watt. Stay away from the surface mounts they are not the problem. I resoldered the following: D647
Q605 C690 D645 D620 R691 Q691
These parts are located on the main board, the one the power cord connects to. Carefully press the clip on the left side of the board (as you look at it from the rear of the tv) carefully pull the main board back and out of the rails. You will find the parts on the right side of the main board about 2 inches over 2 inches down. This is an easy fix and free. You do not need the $20. repair manual that I purchased. Heck it don't even cover 9 flashes... It dont explain the ZC error that is on the screen when the tv is diagnostic mode. Fix it and be happy.

Replace D645 and D647 with 2.5A1KV diodes.PROBLEM SOLVED. Thank you Solution #5.
Just to reiterate. This solution pertains to the Sony KV-32FS120. The ZCD erroring circuit is on the A board. You can Google the web for a Service Manual. Most are pay sites, but I did manage to scare it up, no cost. The board layouts, and part numbers were most helpful.
User. "bsee" was most accurate. Added solder to all large parts in area. also resoldered some small parts. But still would not turn on. Found references to 3 users that replaced either Q605, D690, or D647 to solve problem. I replaced Q605, but problem remained. I then replaced both D690 and D647 at same time and problem solved. Not sure which one was problem.
Sony will not sell parts directly, but again just Google Sony parts to find a dealer or parts house able to sell all 3. Total price was about $15.00 not including preferrred shipping. Used a 30 watt soldering iron kit from Radio Shack that include clamp handily used on leads as a heatsink, some desolder braid, and .031 60/40 rosin core solder. Had a smaller 15 watt iron, but it didn't heat up to a usable level for desoldering. Thanks again for the advice...

Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Could be Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13v (negitive).
Dump the piece of cr%p.
Unsolder the h-output Q502. does the b+ to hvt come up and stay on? if not then replace IC600. if so then check q502, d500, d502, d503 for shorts. if checks ok then unsolder q532 and see if it runs.
Ok i got a sony board kv32FS120 where can i get the parts at so i can replace them thanks
Sony KV-32fs120 with 9 blinks. Resoldering only results in a temporary fix. Replace D645 and D647 with 2.5A1KV diodes.
Hi I have the same problem 9 blinks. I've tried searching for the parts on google but I can't find those parts D690 D647 Q605. can someone point me to the right direction?
Had the ****** for 5 yrs. Any idea how to dispose of the heavy metal? (No offense to music fans.)
I also have to same problem but where I can buy the parts
Q605, D647, D690. When I google it I couldn't find any.Can some one give me the part numbers???
This problem is always in the remote control circuits. The main control IC is IC001 on the M plug-in board. This is the main possibility for the failure. It may be Q605 or the other transistors on the M board, but not as likely as the IC, since you are getting 9 blinks. The best solution is get a new M board (about $ 60-80). The part number is on the board. It is nearly impossible to do a good job replacing the IC (80 tiny pins to solder in place) ---------- Eagle2
We had a similar problem with ours. It requires the set to be unplugged for 36 hours and it is working fine.

When powered on the light on the Sony KV32FS120 blinks 5 times then 3 times then nothing else happens. No light near the power button, no sound and no picture. I have unplugged it and plugged it back in as suggested by the dealer's manual, and turned it on and off. Any solutions?
Same problem here, 9 blinks. TV does not turn on anymore though.
I have a Sony HDTV and (KDP) and it started having problems. The standby light was blinking several times (I never counted) but eventually it came on. Now it doesn't come on at all and it blinks 9 times (exactly) withy a pause. I searched the internet and the instructions state to "change the switching regulator on the "G" board ", but I have no idea how to do that.
Please advice
The TV will not power on when i use the remote or at the main power button . the stand by light just blinks several time then pluses and starts again and the tv will not come on after several tries.
tv does not turn on. standby light just blinks
I have the same problem. I tried resolding as suggested and it worked for few days and then same problem appeared. I have fixed 2-3 times but it works only for few days. Please tell me the permanent solution.

my sony trinitron tv has power light green then timer button blinks and it eventually the turn just turns back off, i jave no picutre nor sound when this occurs, i have tried to just reset the tv by unpluggin it but i keep getting the same thing
Is that dangerous to solder the circuit myself if I don't much experience? I don't want to put myself in risk just for fixing this ****.
My TV finally dead today with 9 blinks, I wish I was not lazy before by reading those reviews before I bought, it last 2 years and dead. Also I am shocked that SONY ignored so many people's complaints. This is the worst experience in my life to buy an electronic like that. I will tell all my friends to NOT buying SONY again. SONY is become **** in my dictionary.
The funny thing is the one I bought 10 years ago for a second hand Philips TV still worked.
mine blinks five times . is there anyway to fix this?
a geek squad technician just came to my house knew what the problem was when he saw the the a wega sony abour 47" or 51" said it was the "G" board, he had to order parts but managed to override the standby mode by pressing something on the remote and the TV turned on with a bunch of 000111 0011 codes in green and said he was going to shut it off becase if he left it this way it can probably short circuit the screen. But this is what I want to happen so that I can get a new tv from BEst Buy since its still under warratny can anyone help me damage my tv without damaging it physically?
flash 9 fois et s'allume toujours pas
We are having an issue also. We have the Sony FD Trinitron Wega KV 32FS120 and the power button does not work. Tried using our universal remote & still won't respond. Blinks 5 times & nothing happens. Tried to find a way to fix it by googling the model#, brand name & Serial # but got no results. Any suggestions on what else we can try to save our T.V.????
