SOURCE: Brand new gas range

i would look into the valve/regulater at which you connected the gas line, off to the side or somewhere on the regulater itself there should be a shut off for the oven control, simply flick to open positon and you should start right up. it would shut off gas to oven but allow burners to light.

SOURCE: DCS Range constant sparking at all burners even when lighting one

This happens to mine if there is anything on any of the burners, such as food residue or moisture. Check all the burners to see that nothing is touching the burner area where the gas jets are. Even a little water can make this happen.

SOURCE: I have a Hotpoint RGB745 gas range everything

The ignitor gets weak and dim and does not allow for the safety device to open and let the gas flow. The igniter must pull at least 3.2 amps. I have a short video HERE

Converted HotPoint RGA720 to LP, burners and oven work fine, all pilots flames are still too high?

I have this model too and have had to replace two thermocouples because the pilot is so high it frys them. We replaced the whole modulator last time and it still goes out so I have to relight The pilot is at the lowest setting, it's a GE/Hotpoint issue that was not recalled. I do like the hot 125 degree oven for drying sun dried tomatoes and keeping plates warm.

Gas stove need to switch to propane

Hi,

Hotpoint supplies the orifices and instructions with each range for converting. It is just that it is hidden, they attach it to the gas regulator. The regulator is near the bottom back typically. Here is a cut out from your use and care manual.

CONVERTING TO LP GAS (or converting
back to natural gas from LP)
This range leaves the factory set for use with natural
gas. If you want to convert to LP gas, the conversion
must be performed by a qualified LP gas installer.
The conversion instructions and LP orifices can be found
attached to the range next to the pressure regulator.
Keep these instructions and the orifices in case you want
to convert back to natural gas.

Converting broiler in oven from natural gas to lp gas on hotpoint gas range

On the oven portion you will need to turn the oriface clockwise all the way till it bottoms out. This is the conversion from natural gas to lp gas on all gas ovens. Also make sure the valve down toward the back has been flipped off of nat. to lp. Good luck

Flames in oven are WAY too high! Having trouble lowering them.

Hi! melisrus
If you are using LP, even if you change the regulator settings from Natural Gas to LP Gas, the orifices all need to be changed. The Orifices should have come with the new unit, if not contact Hotpoint.
www.hotpoint.com
Make sure you order the instruruction manual and this is an Oven with Range Top, you will need orifices for all the burners on the range top.

Did you change the orifice in the regulator? The orifice opening for LP is a different diameter than the opening for Natural Gas. If you've already attempted changing the settings from Natural to LP, you may want to double check the orifice under the regulator cap, or...you may have a regulator problem. You will need to turn the gas off prior to attempting this. The regulator will be located in the back of the oven somewhere near where the gas line connects to the stove. There is a gas orifice that needs to be turned over to change gas settings. "LP" should be present if it is set correctly. Let me know if this helps.
