SOURCE: light switch on a older kenmore refrigerator, how to replace

Most light switches snap in place. If there is no apparent screw and the switch seems to have an adequate lip all around it, use a putty knife or butter knife push under that lip at one of the shorter sides and gently try to pry it up. It should pop out. the two wires are usually attached by spade connectors that just pull off. Doesn't matter which wire goes on each. Sears should be able to get a new one. But before you go that far be sure the bulb is not burnt out first. You should also take the switch with you to sears or have a friend test the switch to be sure it is truly bad..

SOURCE: Kenmore side by side is not getting cold or freezing

If the refrigerator isn't cool, you need to answer some questions, then see if the compressor is running.
First, answer these questions:
Is the refrigerator completely dead?
If so, see “It's stopped completely.”

The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified appliance repair technician for further help.

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these:
The compressor
The Thermostat
The overload, relay, or capacitor
The defrost timer
The condenser fan motor

The freezer and the fridge are cooled by the same system, air is moved to the fridge by a fan from the freezer, either the circulation fan is defective or the fridge thermostat is defective.

My refrigerator Kenmore model 795 77563600 freezes up the vegies on the left side drawerand werever I store on top of that drawer. What can it's wrong with it?

Your refrigerator as cooling tubes that allows the cold air or the freezer to go to the refrierator side. If one becomes blocked with frost all the cold air is then forced to route through the other cooling tube. And that what it sounds like is happening to you.

My kenmore refrigerator is not getting cold this morning there was water all over the floor the ice was metl

Someone would have pressed defrost switch. Please release the defrost switch. Or automatically it will release after some time. (Not so longer time). Then compressor will start to run and cooling will be there.
In case all of above attempt failed, check compressor running. If not replace relay. If compressor running and no warm on discharge side, gas leak. If warm and no whistling noise in freezer side chock on system. Both cases release gas, and leak test, arrest, vacuum and do gas charging. Replace filter drier.Thanks. Helpful

Light in refrierator won't work

If the light still didn't work and you are sure the bulb is good, then the next thing in line to check is the door switch. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure where the door switch is on this model, but the switches are usually at the bottom. Door switches are notorious for getting sticky. Lots of things get spilled in the fridge and run down to the switch. If the switch doesn't pop out when the door is opened, the light won't come on. Usually just working the switch and cleaning any sticky stuff from it fixes the problem. If not and you have a meter, you can check the switch. If it checks bad with a meter, then it has to be replaced.

Hope this helped

How do you replace the light switch?

Unplug the refrigerator.Take a small skinny flat screw driver and pry the switch out. You can unplug it once you have it out but hold on to the wire so it does not fall into the refrigerator. Have the new switch ready to install or tie or tape the wire while you go get the new switch.

Kenmore icemaker

It sounds like the icemaker is making hollow cubes , and the unfrozen water in the cubes , after dumping , freezes and causes the ice shells to stick togather . This is a sign of " not enough water going into the icemaker " . Replace the water inlet valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to , on the refrig .
