In order to provide the proper solution to this, I need to know how this unit is connected to the TV. Also, when using the PS3 in game mode, do you get both picture and sound? What is the make and model of the TV involved here?
There are a number of reasons for the loss of picture. I will assume that you have selected the correct video input and video type. But for confirmation, please provide those details as well. Once you update this, I will try to give you an explanation and potential solutions.
With your PS3 on standby (red light) hold the on/off button down until it goes green and then back to red. This restores your PS3 to "factory settings", i.e. it is waiting for you to tell it how you want it to connect to your TV. Now disconnect any HDMI cables you may be trying to use and connect your PS3 to your TV via a scart connection. Now switch your PS3 on and turn to your AV channel and you should have both sound and pictures.
When you connecting sony via hdmi sony and tv must be shut down.First turn on sony then tv.Connect also and av cable or scart then go to sony settings and change out signal via hdmi or scart or av cabel and confirm. That should work
i have my picture going through the hdmi and the sound going through the scart. plug the scart into the back of the ps3. then the white and red wire are into my tecnics sound system and it works perfectly you just need to set it up in the sound options in your ps3. which is very easy. just select scart in the sound options. hope this helps you.
