Please describe the beeps--for instance, just like the old Morse code, are the beeps something like 2 short and 1 long. The beeps will be something like that and then there will be a pause and the pattern will repeat.
I would help to know the type of motherboard, too, and if there was an AGP card in use before or were you using something else.

I have been readign the specifications of the board and  have a few questions,if you don't mind. The first is:
Does this card have a place to hook up voltage from the power supply and have you done so.
You have installed the software for thhs card and removed the old software, or turned off the onboard graphics.
YO have upgrade your power supply and know that it has at least 10% to 20% reserve wattage,
more that all of you parts consume. Thanks .

I wouldnt know whether you just like ATI Graphics cards, or it was recommended for you. But I would still give you my straight forward advice, and this is : Go for NVIDIA Ge-FORCE graphics cards. Trust me, you would thank me for it later.
I didnt want to recommend a specific model for you though, because of our difference in country locations, but just try and get a high memory (like 256MB and above), NVidia Graphics card that is compatible with your system. Also check out the available slot on your system that you will use for it first before you go (So that you wont go and get an AGP slot card when you have just an open PCI Slot). I'm telling you this because I've used A LOT of graphics cards also (Over 10 years now)! and I've come to that conclusion that NVIDIA makes the best graphics card.
Hope this helps you out.
Goodluck!

Hi this is vinit...i'm planning to buy new graphic crd. plz adv..

This motherboard will support any PCI-Express (also known as PCI-E or PCI-X) video card-- which is pretty much any current ATI card that's out there. You DON'T want an AGP card however-- it won't fit.

Can not start acer veriton 5600g with ati 1650 pro agp card ? The bios doesn't seem to recognise the card and it beeps when i disconnect the onboard vga. Any help will be appreciated... thanks

How did you disconnect the onboard VGA?
The onboard VGA device must be disabled in the BIOS and the ATI graphics card inserted in the computer.
When you bootup it should default to a standard Windows VGA configuration, then install the ATI video driver o you can get high resolution graphics.

One long beep tow short beep

One long beep and two short beeps mean faulty video adapter.

If you are using a card, like a PCI or AGP video adapter then remove and put back the card in slot.

If you have a motherboard, then the video chipset on motherboard had gone, buy an agp video adapter and insert it in the slot inside your computer to fix the problem.

below an example of PCI and AGP video card:

MSI G4MX4000-T64 64 MB Graphics Card

HP Intel DVI AGP digital display card

ATI Rage 128 Pro 32 MB PCI Graphics Card

AGP card not suport to play games

Only solution is to upgrade your video card. ATI Radeon 1650 pro 512 mb card is available in an agp format. This card is probably the best out there for an agp board. All you would need to do is purchase the new card, remove old card, insert new, reboot & use the cd that comes with the new card to install drivers. Hope this helps & please rate my answer fixya. Thanks.

Can i run ati radeon x1650 512 on asus k8N motherboard

Yes you can run the AGP version of the Radeon 1650 pro on your system. It is always best & recommended to upgrade memory in pairs. You could upgrade to `gb by purchasing a 1 gb kit which would be 512 x 2. That way you have a matching pair of RAM modules. As for a cpu upgrade you can go to the Asus website and see what cpu's are supported by your motherboard. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.
