Question about Garden
Got the machine about two years ago brand new. Started at that itme. but no snow, so did not use for 2 winters. Sat in garage, now trying to start and it would not. Put fuel stabilizer last summer but did not try to start it at that time. did the spark plug test and look good. Primer does not seem to be spraying fuel. Just heaing sound of air and not smelling any fuel when prmer is pressed 4 to 6 times..

pull the flywheel and check if the key(latter models the flywheel itself will need replaced if stripped)is damaged. This is a possibility.

This sounds too easy of a solution but I had a like ptroblem with my Craftsman. I loosed the gas cap a bit and the rough running and stalling stopped. he vent on the gas cap that contains a turn over interrupt valve was plugged causing the gas not to flow. I took the cap apart and cleaned out the vent hole though cleaning the holewith a paper clip would have worked as well. Anyway..it fixed my problem. I think my dirty hands of deris deposited the matera in the vent hole when filling with gas.

you carburator just needs to be cleaned/adjusted, and if your original fuel filter isnt clogged and looks clean, leave it, but the air filter is a good idea to change at least once a year (grass shavings covered filters dont help the engine much).

ok a couple of things to try 1 try using starter fluid in carburetor 2 second spritz and crank does it fire or pop? if yes then there is spark, if not then pull spark plug and put new one and try again, if no then leave spark plug out of engine and lay on engine with wire connected and look for spark( do in shade to see better. if no spark then coil if bad. if it does fire on starter fluid, check gas filter and air cleaner it may be too lean or rich to fire properly.
