WIN PRO 2000 RECOVERY DISK

Can you assist me with getting to the CD-ROM I burned with the Recovery disk?  I downloaded the program, but I don't know how to get my IBM to run it!

So what are you trying to do with the recovery disk? Does your IBM also have a 3 1/2" floppy drive? Typically during the startup of the system (Before the Windows Loading Screen) you would press a predefined key (Usually F1-F12) to select the boot drive or device. In this case you would select to boot from the CD-ROM drive in order to boot from the CD-ROM acting as the boot disk.

BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD THE PROGRAM ONTO THE CD-ROM DID YOU FORMAT IT TO MAKE IT BOOTABLE, IF NOT THAN IT WILL NOT WORK, YOU COPIED THE PROGRAM, THE COMPUTER SEES THE PROGRAM, BUT IT CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS THE COMMAND ARE THERE TO TELL IT WHAT TO DO.

YOU CAN TRY ACCESSING THE PROGRAM FROM THE CD-ROM, WHILE YOU ARE IN THE PROGRAM FROM THE CD YOU CAN TRY AND TYPE SETUP, RUN,

Need install disk

Ask your friend what operating system the computer originally had.
Then, you can call the computer manufacture and normally the cd's run like 11 to 12 Bucks for the cd or cd's all together.
it happened to me, my hard drive died and I needed a copy and I called the manufacture company of my computer and because it was out of warranty they send me 3 cd's for the price of 12 bucks total. I hope the computer is not that old.. but try that first.

Home and pro is not much different just the pro had more stuff in it.
You can get free xp cd's nowadays as is old operating system.

You can go to amazon and find recovery disks for win xp for just 10 bucks

Please help me i forget my password & mysecret question

If you have a Windows password reset disk, you can easily reset your Windows password with it. If not, you can follow the steps to create one. You just need an available computer linked to the Internet.

Step 1: Download and install Windows Password Breaker with the available computer.

Step 2: Run the program and burn a Windows password reset disk. It could be burned onto a CD/DVD OR USB flash drive.

Step 3: Turn to your locked computer, insert the newly created CD or USB to your drive. Reboot the Computer and reset the Windows password.
It is easy and safe.

My 0xc000000c "Restore Failed" prompt seemed to be the result of disk surface damage on the restore disk. After burning the restore disk to a new disk, the restore proceeded normally. Try making a copy of the original restore disk to a known good blank disk.

Raw file system

To fix the problem
Disable the S.M.A.R.T error detection feature in the CPUCool program or similar utility.
Boot to the Windows 2000 or XP installation CD, and at the Startup menu, press R for repair.
In the Recovery Console, type the following:
chkdsk /p
When the CHKDSK process has finished, reboot the computer.
Run the program again.
The error should no longer be reported unless you start using the S.M.A.R.T error detection feature again.

Error occurs with PartitionMagic 8.0
If you encounter Error 1516 with PartitionMagic 8, first run CHKDSK /F on the affected partition. For instructions on how to run CHKDSK, read How to Run Microsoft's CHKDSK from the Command Line. If this does not fix the error, try running PartitionMagic with the /IFC switch, which causes file system errors to be ignored.
To run PartitionMagic with the /IFC switch
Boot from the first PartitionMagic rescue disk.
When you are prompted to insert the second rescue disk, press Ctrl+C to drop to the command (A:>) prompt.
Insert the second PartitionMagic rescue disk and type the following:
pqmagic /ifc
Press Enter.
please go ahead and try the above steps may be it will fix it
