Question about HP LaserJet P3005n Printer

HP Laserjet 3005DN toner cartridge change

I've installed a high-capacity compatible toner cartridge (q7551X) to replace the q7551A original. The printer apparently doesn't recognize the new cartridge. It keeps telling me to install a Black cartridge. How do I get the printer to recognize the cartridge?

You don't. HP printers seem to be very particular about this.  Take it back and get the exact replacment, including the brand.

Where can i find a epson Aculaser Y dev unit from please

The Y toner cartridges are still being produced by Epson. However not many stores in UK stock them. They are readily available on eBay. You will have a choice of originals or compatibles, and a choice of standard or high capacity cartridges.
I normally stick to originals, and pay around 20 UK pounds for standard and 40 UK pounds for high capacity ones.
Compatibles are about half of those prices, but I have found wide variation in quality.
If you are not using a lot, then originals are preferable.
Let me know if I can be of further help

Which black ink cartridge is compatible with this printer as the one i have purchased using the same cartridge dode seems to be narrower than the original?

What manufacturer of printer?
What model of printer?

Generally, there are no "compatible" ink-cartridges (HP sometimes has "high-capacity" cartridges, as an alternate to their "regular" cartridges), unless you find an Asian company that makes "compatible" cartridges.

If the replacement fits, and the printer recognizes it, then use it.

I use to get thousands of copies from one cart -

DELL has two types of toner cartridges for your printer:
- a 3000 Page Standard Yield Toner Cartridge (Manufacturer Part# : RP441 | Dell Part# : 310-8701)
- a 6,000 Page High Yield Toner
(Manufacturer Part# : GR332 | Dell Part# : 310-8700)

The Toner yield is based on printing pages with 5% page coverage in accordance with ISO/IEC 19752 testing methodology. Yields vary with usage and environmental conditions.
In practice, depending on what type of documents you print, one cartridge can print much less than the quantity of prints advertised.

You might perhaps bought before a high capacity (more expensive cartrige)?
Also, if you are using compatible (not original Dell cartridges) or reffils of the original cartriges , the yeld of the cartrige may vary.

Hi armaskopljak:
You have replaced the toner cartridge but you still have to replace the imaging unit which is the drom that the toner cartridge attaches to.
Toner Cartridge OK, Low, Empty When 15,000

7,500 (standard-capacity
