May I suggest that you visit YOUTUBE to search and view some video clips of VALID (good) "lcd monitor disassembly" and / or "lcd monitor repair" ??? Have you ever heard the expression "a picture (in your case video clip) is worth a thousand words" Good luck guy, your on your own!!! If this helps you out, please rate this response on fixya. But don't come back here CRYING or complaining IF YOU SCREW UP YOUR MONITOR !!! Bye for now.. 12fix louie

Push the button on the front that says menu. Within that menu you will find the brightness control. Use the other buttons to move through the different menu items until you get to Brightness. Once there push the menu button again and then adjust the brightness with the other buttons.

The screen itself is starting to go bad which is why your having to turn up the brightness to 100% just to see something. Replacing the screen would cost more then the whole lcd monitor itself so its best to get a new one.
