SOURCE: printing problem

Vertical line is probably scratch in Toner/image drum or one of the erase LED bar lamps is out. Start by replacing the Drum and see if it is better. LED erase lamp assy is more expensive so I hope for you that it is the drum.

Saw this scratched tomer drum on a ton of HP I serviced while in Europe

Cheers!

SOURCE: I replaced the drum on

Hi.

EL, which wants to represent E6 is not a drum error code. EL (E6) means NVRAM error on main PCB.

If the error does not go away disconnecting power, then the main PCB (controller board) must be replaced.

Several forums cannot understand EL is E6 and point in the wrong direction. The full list of error codes is reported in service manual at pages 22-23. Service manual has been uploaded below:

A full service manual: mfc9840cdwservice man.

Regards.

Eroor 77 for fax brother 8070p

Open the front panel, remove the toner cartridge and close the panel. The printer tries
to warm up and then it will say to open the panel door. Open the door, insert the toner,
close it and the machine error will be cleared.

Back cover open message although cover is closed

Open the top and back covers. If you see any jammed paper or
other item, gently pull it out, then close the covers. If the error message
remains, open and close the covers again. If the FAX/MFC cannot reset
itself and return to the date and time prompt, it will display MACHINE
ERROR XX. Please call Brother Customer Service
and tell them the Machine Error number at:

What is "error 77"

Hello.

Error 77 indicates a reset condition.

I'd suggest to open the front panel, remove the toner and close the front panel. The printer will try to warm up and then display to open the panel door. Open the door, insert the toner, close the panel and the machine error should clear.

Hope this helps.

Brother (photocopier, fax and scanner machine) says << back cover open. close back cover>> but the back cover (or at least what i think is the back cover) is closed. I even opened and closed it...

I have fixed this problem on my 7820n printer by brother.

open the back door, then inside there will be a black colored other kind of like door that pulls back away from the roller. on this inner door is a black long thin plastic lever that runs from about the center of the inner door to the right. on the right end of it is a lever that slides along a curved increase on the right side wall. when both doors are closed this right end of the rod or lever moves up to close the gap between what is the sensor. this long thin plastic rod had snapped out of place and when i snapped it back in making sure the spring was correctly installed on the left end of it and the middle part of the rod slid correctly in its groove...the right end of the lever correctly closed the gap on the sensor (when both doors are closed) and the back door open error went away.

So that's how you really fix it!!!!

Back door wont close

First Isolate whether it is the Side Door or their is a door on the rear make sure that isn't open.
What I would do is Physically open and re-close all doors again the tabs and sensor get sticky after awhile. If not you could have a BAD sensor door switch.

''Back door open, please close back door'' - back door is closed

This Error Is Reoccurring On All These Units Open Close Back Door Then Unplug For 30 Seconds And Then Plug It Back In. Check For Error.

The Brother Website Says To Check The Paper But Almost All Of These People Have Checked For Paper Problems And For Jams With No Result.

Error message-Close the back cover

It appears that you have a broken back door have a look on the door to see if there is a broken piece of plastic as when you shut the rear door a tab pushes against a push switch letting the machine know that the door is closed. if you cannot see a broken piece then the switch it faulty try this by push a flat screw driver on the switch and check if the message disappears.

Thanks J
