Remove the needleplate and clean out the lint from between the teeth of the feeddogs........it is the most likely reason, the lint holds the feeddogs below where they need to engage fabric.

Check your Presser foot tension is at 3 then do a test.

If this is not sufficient the method of adjusting feeddogs is possible at home, tho perhaps not for those lacking some confidence in mechanical adjustment.......so post back for detail if needed.

SOURCE: pulling fabric

Buy new needles! Buy size 10 or 11 Microtex Sharp needles. If this solves the problem, Great! If not, move the needle to the left needle position. This gives it more support and less possibilities of doing what it's doing.

The teeth don't reengage until you try to sew on it again. Have you done that? Give an old push on the footpedal and see if that helps....

What is your stitch length? I have always followed the rule... Bulky/Long stitches, Fine/Small stitches. If you have a "walking foot attachment otherwise known as an even feed foot..you might give that a try as well.

Fabric not advancing

Make sure the feed dogs are not in the dropped position (for darning).

If it is very light-weight fabric, most machines will have a presser foot pressure adjustment that will increase the presser foot's pressure on the feed dogs, thus pulling the fabric through better.

Make sure the feed dogs are clean--no debris stuck between the teeth, under the feed dogs, or around the bobbin case. If it is an older machine that has been used a lot, the feed dogs could be worn down and need replacement or adjustment. (Do not run the machine with the presser foot directly on the feed dogs. This will cause excessive wear to the feed dogs and the presser foot.)

What is a feed dog in memory craft 9500 and how to lower the feed dog

Sewing machines have feed dogs to pull the fabric through the machine. They are usually a pair of metal teeth that are situated in the needleplate and press against the presser foot. They grip the fabric and pull the fabric under the presser foot as the needle stitches.

You can find the drop feed dog instructions in the owner's manual:

The feeder isnt feeding the fabric through

The length has to be above zero. Insure the bobbin wind is off.

My sewing machine wont RUN. The needle goes up and down but the material wont move along.

under the foot around the needle, there should be two rows of what look like teeth, these pull the material through and there will be an adjustment mechanism on the machine. Try leaving the foot up while you run the machine, you should see the teeth going up and down; if they are it is most likely just a case of setting up the amount of pull. I think it is adjusted with the wheel that sets the length of stitch.

The little Teeth/feeder under the foot doesn't push the fabric out. The fabric doesn't move

check where the direction button/lever is
it controls the feed mechanism and if it is in the middle the teeth will just go up and down
set it one way and it moves forward and set the other way will go in reverse
it is graduated to provide a stitch length ( number of stitches per 1")

Brother CS6000i with setting 00 for straight line stitch is making a left curve stitches instead going straight.

***Your feed dog under the pressure foot seems to be pulling on one side a little harder which indicates wear. It is likely to solve the problem by replacing the feed dog.
***Before you do this try to lower the pressure on the pressure foot. If the material you are sewing is thick it will have an effect on the pull of the feed dogs. The material you are sewing that you sent appears to be jeans material. It looks like it is thick and somewhat slippery.

Singer 6234. Where is the feed dog?

Feed dogs are the little teeth that pull fabric underneath the presser foot.

I have a singer model #2932 It will not advance the fabric, just keeps sewing in the same place

I've been sewing since I was six (with mom's help), but all sewing machines are basically the same. The feed dog, which is what advances the fabric is most likely not moving. If you look at the area just under the presser foot & needle you'll see little "teeth". This is the feed dog. Take the thread out of the needle and run the machine without any fabric. Watch those teeth. They should rise & lower into the base. If they don't move when the foot pedal is pressed, then that is your problem and you'll need to take it to a repair shop. Good luck.

Propeler foot

I'm pretty new to sewing as well, but have you checked to see if your feed dogs are up or down? If I am correct (little teeth on the sewing plate right under the needle)they are what moves the fabric along for you. If youre free sewing or quilting you'd want them down but not for regular sewing.
