Whenever I try to shred anything on my Fellowes Powershred C220 the red light comes on saying the bin is full when it's not. Sometimes I will be in the middle of shredding something and it will stop and the red light meaning the "bin is full" will come on and I have to continuously shut off and on the machine in order to continue shredding.

Re: The "bin full" keeps on coming on
First off, fellowes has had problems with the bin full sensors that sometimes, can only be corrected by replacing them. however, there are two things to check. make sure it doesn't have a bunch of shredded paper hanging down from the cutters. that can trigger the bin light as the sensore are located under the head, but above basket. last, but not least, clean the sensors. they get paper dust on them after awhile causing same indication. if those two things don't fix it, it will have to have sensors replaced.

If this is actually an SB-15C I posted a solution elsewhere and will repeat it: I called the toll free number for Fellowes Help Line, 800.955.0959, and
spoke to John who was most familiar with the SB-15c. I indicated that
the "bin full" LED was bad (actually the transmit bulb). After John
ascertained that I had indeed cleaned the bulbs, he made available a
replacement part, MasterCard or VISA required. Replacement of these
bulbs is not for everyone. A level of technical ability and some tools
will be required.
I have never had this level of technical support available on the first call. Kudos for Fellowes.
your bin full sensors are dirty or broken to clean access bottom side of shredder head and look for a set of screws on each end of the paper throat. There you will see two little bulbs (bin full sensors) these have more than likely gathered paper dust and need to be cleaned with a Q-tip dipped in a little Isopryl Alchohol. This should solve your problem. If you have any questions just call us at 1-800-945-4545. A Customer Service Representative will assist you.
