Recently every cycle stops with "ob" on the digital screen. I look in each time & they do not appear to be out of balance, but I shift things around, regardless & it will stop in a minute once again, saying "ob" !!!!! These things are not really out of balance, but now it won't go completely to the end of the cycle - it always stops during the spin - saying "ob" !!!!!!! The dreaded OB !!!!!!!!! Is there anything to be done - or is it time to go to the appliance store? I've cursed these confounded digital machines! esp. Sears Kenmore!!!! ;0D
You probably have something trapped under the large washplate inside the drum. I'm going through the same issue right now with the wife's dis-integrated bathroom rug.
For the calypso, the washplate is the flat thing on the bottom of the washtub that does the "nutating". Sometimes stuff can get sucked past the seal and into this inner area. You can pop the cap in the center and remove (6) 3/8" bolts to get the washplate lifted. The whole process is in the repair manual. It is available online in pdf format.

OK. Same poster here.
We actually tried leveling the washer again with a level (Is it NORMAL to have a washer go out of balance naturally over several years??????)
We used the level &, sad to say, it still knocks & jumps around with every load, .......
Is there something else that could be broken in relation to the balance in the finishing spin?
