When you say you have recorded the cd i guess that you have burnt some audio files into it. Now first and foremost thing is on what format did you burn the cd. If its a audio disc burnt then browse the contents of the disc and play the item. This should answer your query.

I have a Dell Inspiron E1405 laptop computer. I recently noticed that when I inserted a music CD into the drive, that it would not play or even recognize it in the My Computer window. I can still play DVDs...

The Cd player my be dirty, you can get disks you put in there to clean them. Also sometimes the players are just picky and don't like certain CD's..... I'll build brand new PC's that only read some CD right from the start.

Make sure your disks are clean to, with no fingerprints.

DVD burner doesn't reconize burned music cd's only shows them as blank disc

Have you tried to play burned music disc with other laptop? if it was able to play there then i suspected your dvd-rom drive is faulty.

To confirm, try playing different cds from your machine and check if it was able to read it.

Quiet Noisey feedback out of speakers

The speakers are not hooked up correctly. I don't know if you still have the instructions but it is a hardware problem and not software. Try to figure out how to hook them up correctly.
