Question about Kitchen Ranges

The gas flame on my 4 burner Chambers stove top is very high. How do I adjust it?

I have a chambers stove top that is probably from the late 60s early 70s and the left half of the burners flames got really low after a melted butter accident. So I cleaned out every orifice and now the flames are shooting to high! the other half of the burners remain uneffected by this entire ordeal as I did not have to touch them. What could I do to lower the flames to normal besides adjusting the air flow (that does nothing)?

SOURCE: cannot adjust flame on gas burner

Is this lp or natural gas? The screw you turned adjusts the low flame only. Did this just start, or has it always done this? Let me know.

SOURCE: burner flame height adjustment

All ignitors will always arc whenever one of them does.

I haven't worked with propane systems much, but it seems you may need the propane pressure regulator adjusted.

If the problem is only with the power burner, I would ensure that particular orifice was actually changed. The hole in a propane orifice is smaller than for natural gas.

Use a manometer to insure lp gas pressure is correct. The regulator for the stove may need adjusting. The air mixture adjustment may not be correct for PL as well.

Remove the front panel to find where the gas injectors enter the burner tubes you will see they are cut away and have a screw holding an outer ring which is adjustable, open them up more to get more air in .

The gas flame on my 4 burner Chambers stove top is very low. When we try to adjust the air flow the flames increase for a moment but then return to being low. What could the problem be and how can we fix...

I had the same problem after a melted butter accident... I shut off the gas under the stove by a valve. Then I took the burners off and cleaned every orifice I could find. Still no luck. Then I cleaned out the main orifice right out of the controls for the burners, it was tiny and had to get a very small pipe cleaner made for an air brush gun. That did the trick! But now I have soaring flames and I'm trying to figure out how to adjust them back down.

call in a gas fitter as the jets for the propane are probably incorrect.

Installed stove, no flames on burners?

It may still have air in the system, turn on one burner on and allow the gas to flow with a lighter in the path of the gas see if the gas lights of at least explodes I mean until it goes Poof, once it does that if it does not light then pull the top off the stove and adjust the vents on the pipes to focus the flames and how much air is blended in with the gas, also turn the burner so that the holes are half way open, I am not sue about your stove but most have an adjustment by turning the burner 1/4 of a turn to change the flame characteristics. if this does not help post here and I will see what else I can find out on your stove. I need the modle of the stove and the regulator number where the gas hooks up.

BO696 problems-burners too high on lowest position

Remove knob, with flashlight look down top of shaft see a slotted screw that screw is flame adjustment.

To adjust, light burner, turn flame to low, with screwdriver turn screw rite till flame is at desired hight (aprox 2mm). now turn up to high check that high is satisfactory if high is to low then adjust screw. check low again. adjust till both setings are acceptible.
do for all burners

As for holding the knobs that is common with this stove, you could check to see if flame is hitting sensor the burner hole that lines up the sensor may be dirty.
