Question about Dell Computers & Internet
I use a dell desktop with win xp sp3 and out of the blue my keyboard began producing the strangest text: for example: oh sqy cqn you see by the dqzns eqrly light: zhqt so proudly ze hqil should be: oh say can you see by the dawns early light what so proudly we hail.. see what I mean. But it only happens in my browser not in MS word etc. Now I tried the start>control panel>regional (yadda yadda) greek etc. remedy 2x's and it still acts up. Got a cure for it, and a reason this happened? thank you
Try hitting the NUM LOCKK/SCRN LOCKK key on the keyboard to see if that will resolve the issue.

SOURCE: HP desktop wont start up
Hi, depends on the beep sequence, it could either ba a bad memory or a bad video card. By being bad does not necessarily mean defective but could possibly be just loose. Try to open the casing/cover and reseat/push back into place the video card (if it is not built-in) and/or the memory. It is possible that they were jarred loose while in transit. Pls make sure the unit is unplugged before doing this. BTW, being new, you might void your warranty if you open the casing, pls check your warranty card. Hope this works out for you. Please let me know how things turn up. Regards

SOURCE: I have purchased a Microsoft
When you say you pressed the connect buttons on both the keyboard and mouse, do you mean you pressed the connect button on the receiver, and then you pressed the connect buttons on the mouse and keyboard? If not, then that's what you have to do. The 30 seconds of blinking on the receiver is normal, as it gives you time to find and press the buttons on the mouse and keyboard.
I hope this helps, and good luck!

I would unplug the power supply from the motherboard, wait a little while and then plug it back in.
Try to power everything back up and it should come up.
I am assuming you are getting a light on the motherboard that indicates power is being supplied?

I guess you have turned off the security center in the system.
Not to worry. You can get it back by performing these simple steps:
In that, select Run.
Click on Ok.
Now you get a services dialog box.
Scroll down to the Security Center option
Check the status. It must have been turned off.
Double click on Security center. A dialog box will open up.
You will have 4 tabs namely General, Logon, Recovery, Dependencies.
Choose Startup Type, and change it to Automatic.
Change the Service Status to Start.
Now go back to control panel. You will see the Security Center Option.
Good luck !!!
