Ok did this happen the first time u turn on the TV. ? If so u might have a ribbon cable disconnect from the logic or u might have a defective Plasma panel. If u have a defect like your describing the IC's on the panel short out and no longer work causing that section of the screen not to function. Only fix then is replace panel

No,U just have a weak signal that all,U use free air right?Get a out door antena or get digital antena,better reception and signal.
