SOURCE: Cannot install Windows XP Professional on Acer Aspire 4720Z Laptop

You have to integrate the SATA AHCI driver to your windows XP CD. By doing this you will be able to install the OS. The process of integration is given in the link below:

They have given a detailed description in the site.Hope this will work.

Sir, i have purches acer aspire 4736z laptop in 14 apr 2009, with window vista already instelled, but it now says that enter vista product key, and shut down after 1 hour autometically

If you have bought the laptop from any authorised ACER vendors, ie if you purchase the laptop with genuine OEM OS software, the should be a sticker licence with serial No. on it attached with your laptop. If you only purchased the hardware then you have to go back ACER or their authorised dealers to buy it.
If your laptop has a genuine OEM OS, they should given you a recovery CD or the recovery CD is embedded on the hard drive and you can burn a copy from the hard drive to a CD/DVD.

Hi,
I assume you are using the Vista disk that came in with the system. Even though you can see a product key on your friends computer, It would not work on your own computer because that product key is intended only for that DELL computer. The windows Vista that your friend has is an OEM copy of the operating system. The product key should match the Hardware of the OEM computer for it to work.
I suggest you get a genuine copy of the operating system for your self.
Hope this helps.

IF it came with a Vista Install, and you are installing the exact same Vista, then YES, The "Key" on the bottom, is the right one and it will absolutely work. These units have a BIOS that has a special Activation Code inside. The Windows install "Sees" that "Code" and Activates Vista. You DO need to user an ACER Version though, this can be downloaded from the "net though, as an ISO,burn that to DVD, and you can use that.

How do I wipe out an aspire one netbook?

Use a Windows installation CD and re-install Windows; the CD version must match the Windows version on the Windows Product Code label on the bottom of your laptop.
You will also need to download the device drivers for your model laptop from the Acer WEB support site, make sure the download the correct XP or Vista version of the drivers which matches the Windows version you are installing.

If you download this program http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html (produkey) install it you should be able to extract your product key that is installed on your computer. Although the current Produkey v1.06 is not officially declared to support Windows Vista, it’s working fine to extract product ID and product key of a 32-bit OEM Windows Vista Ultimate edition.

id reinstall vista ! if you want to do this you need to get in to the bios which u press F2 i believe when the comp first starts up when your in the bios scroll along to boot menu u shud see a boot list with your hard drive at the top ,you need to change your dvd drive to the top so itll boot from dvd , restart your computer with a windows vista disc in the dvd drive and i think it shud give you an option to fix your system if doesnt work then definitly do a clean install of vista using your product code . hope this works
