My driver side window fell down & the electric switch won't raise it.l

If the switch is broken, you can put the switch down, short circuit closed first, if is bad, there is no way to the machine. Had better find a repair shop.car key programmer

I need the small control module for a GE downdraft telescopic vent, part no. 959-0138-003 (ACT, Inc.). GE page does not recognize the part number. Where can I get this part?

Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the schematic for the control PC board P/N 959-0138-003 by ACT, Inc. for the GE Downdraft Vent model no. JVB98SH1SS?
Thank you.

No gas on viking professional. ignitor works downdraft does not

There are solenoids that turn the gas on to a burner. If they're bad it won't supply gas to the burner. There is also a mother board on that model that could also be the problem. When it comes to this brand it's difficult to diagnose without being there. If the downdraft is not working then I would guess that the mother board could be the problem...sorry I couldn't help more.

I used my grill for the first time, & the downdraft didn't work we'll, the house filled with smoke & eventually the downdraft shut off and I had to finish cooking in a pan. My Jenn-Air is...

The downdraft is electric so there must be something malfunctioning with it. It is a high volume downdraft fan that is to be vented to the outside. Could it be that something has clogged the vent hole up, not allowing the fan to evacuate the smoke?

While I am not a big fan of Jenn-Air, their fans are usually high quality if they are installed correctly, with the proper vent lines.

I have a GE downdraft vent, model #JVB94SH1SS. A couple months ago I pushed the button to put it down and it went down and up and down and up and down and up and...well you get it. I had to unplug it to...

I had the same problem. It is the switch. Hang on because that little $3 swtich is about $60 from a parts house. Sears wanted $114. If you take the switch out or disconnect the switch at the board and jumper the two leads, (12v), it should work fine. That will tell you whether it is the switch. I did it with a small screwdriver. Careful, even though it is 12v it will get yor attention. I have all GE appliances and they are all junk.

My GE downdraft (ZVB36) does not function. I had to unplug it because it make a continuous humming sound. I have looked for a reset button & could not find one.

The crank arm which raises and lowers the hood has jammed most likely against the vertical bearing guide in the center of the box.
Fix is:
a. If the hood is up, support it somehow so it doesn't crash down. Unplug the whole unit.
b. Pull off the box covering the motor and electricals.
c. Pull off the motor/gearbox assembly. Careful here, as this will release the crank arm which may still be under some load, causing the gearbox assembly to rotate on you.
d. Bend everything back into shape.
e. You may need a new crank arm or gearbox if the shaft to the crank arm is bent.
f. Reassemble. This is most easiy done if the hood is held up by someone or something.

JVB37H1BB downdraft ventilation system stuck

Folks, I have experienced the same problem several times - in all of my cases the problem was solved by simply opening the back panel and taking out the motor assembly and re-aligning it. Check out this URL for a blow up of what's inside and parts list - http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5130126

The problem is that the arm tends to slip out and therefore won't raise or lower the hood anymore. Be careful when aligning it can be a little tricky - carefully observe the how the motor works outside of the housing via the switch and you will get the idea.

Ge downdraft vent

try removing the switch from the ribbon connector, and then jumping the two pins momentarily with a screwdriver blade or other metallic tool. It could be that the switch itself is bad. This is the same problem I'm having and I am currently looking for a replacement switch online.

Wouldn't raise

The GE repair guy came and fixed our vent! He opened up the cover and found that the pivot arm was above where it was supposed to be. It had gotten dislodged or something. He replaced the pivot arm with a new one, Part #WB02X10303, which is supposed to be a new design that won't get off track so easily. Works great now.
