Something is jammed in the threads. I have cleaned with long twesors but it will only work in reverse not forward.

I believe it is clear soft plastic that jammed it.

Nothing easy about this but I believe that you just do not have it entirely cleaned out yet.You have something caught infront of the optic sensor that reads when a page is placed into it for shredding.

The value can vary slightly BUT it is usually listed (stamped) on the fuse end caps in terms of both volage and current rating.

Normally the are rated for specific countries as this brand can be found almost anywhhere around the globe and differences in both voltage and freq play a part.

How do you clear a paper jam

Hello,
Typically the best way to clear a paper jam in a paper shredder is to run it in reverse then forward repeating this as many times as necessary to remove the jam (sort of the same as rocking a car back & forward to get it out of a mud or snow rut). If that doesn't work then the only option is to take the shredder apart and clear it that way!
Good Luck!

How to clear a jam in a shedder?

Most shredders have a reverse feature to allow jam clearing. If the jam is so sever that neither forward or reverse will work, you will need to unplug the unit and manually clear the shredder blades.

Thread becomes jammed in reverse

Reverse can be tricky if the machine is not timed correctly. So try this. after you've stitched forward for a while, use the hand wheel to bring the needle all the way down into the fabric and let it come part way up. Then push your back button and take your back stitches. If that works for you then you know the machine should be checked for proper timing.

I have a SINGER 2263. I've used this machine less than ten hrs. I have a jam, I've cleaned everything. The machine will turn un-restricted in reverse but forward half a cycle. The needle will either...

With the machine unplugged, remove the bobbin case and the shuttle mechanism. Clean and oil it. Check for any fabric or threads in your feed dogs. Change needles in case that one is bent slightly. If the jam was really bad, you may have messed up the timing, unfortunately.

Shredder works but when I got it jammed I switch to reverse and cleared paper, now it only goes in reverse and cannot get it to go forward and shred again. Both positions on the switch only go forward

Try cleaning the "eyes" in the middle where you put the paper in...they may be dusty/dirty....if that dosnt fix it you may have pooched the pcb inside...contact Royal at 1-800-524-0799 for Parts assistance.

Stopped working while i was using it

Mine does that when it jams, or overheats. Try toggling the switch between forward and reverse to clear any jam. If that doesn't work, you can unplug the unit, turn it over, and remove jammed paper with needle nose pliers. If there is no jam, try letting it cool for a while and then try in the reverse position.

Missed stitches noise when it happens

Firstly, turn machine off then turn back on. Change needle. Re-thread the top and bobbin threads. Make sure you have not set the machine for a sideways stitch but you have been using a single stitch foot (recipe for Disaster!). BEFORE trying to sew, wind the machine by hand through a stitch or two (take the thread out of the needle's eye first) and look closely to see if the needle is in fact hitting something. If it is, then the needle needs re-centering and you will have to take the machine for repair to get this done.
Make sure the top thread is going into the tension disks. The presser foot MUST be up while you are threading. Hold onto the thread just as it comes off the spool and when you get down to the needle give a tug to be sure the thread is seated in the tensions before threading the needle. When you insert the bobbin, be sure the thread "clicks" into the tension slot on the bobbin case. Check the Sewing Advisor to be sure you are set for the correct fabric and stitch for what you are sewing. Have you cleaned out the bobbin area? Remove the clear or smoke bobbin cover, either use the tool provided or just press down firmly and slide forwards the metal feed dog cover (feed dogs down first), lift out the light grey plastic bit that half covers the bobbin case, remove bobbin case. Use the brush and clean out all the fluff from the bobbin area. Then check the bobbin case and clean it too. You can use a piece of strong thread or UNWAXED dental floss to clean out between the tension springs (the bit where the bobbin thread 'clicks' into). Reassemble the bobbin pieces in reverse order, making sure that when you replace the metal feed dog cover you push it all the way to the back and it too will 'click' into place. Hope something in the above works for you.

My GBC Shredmaster 2260X is jammed and I can not clear it. The teeth try to rotate when stimulated but something is jamming it. Where can I go for service? I am in murfreesboro, TN.

you can do it yourself!! it take a little bit of time and patience. do it in an area that you can clean easily. take off and unplug the top, turn upside down, get a flat screw driver and start removing all the papers in the teeth area. from time to time you will need to put it bank and turn it on and make it go forward and reverse.

must disassemble feeder unit and visual check for jam. The debris may be a part of the shredder that has broken off.
