Radio won't turn up, nothing from front pass side

I just got a 2002 chevy trail blazer. It has the factory double din radio installed with built in amp. I can only hear a little from the speakers when turned up all the way. I can't seem to get anything from the front right of the vehicle and it's just quiet from all the other speakers. I thought maybe a ground or something with the speaker that would be causing it. The dealership says it is the factory amp that has a short in it. I haven't started diging into it yet and was wondering if i should start at the speaker or at the deck. everything else in the radio seems to be working. there are two front right speakers i can't hear anything out of, the pass door and the pass front dash speaker. please give me better answers than the dealership did, "It'll cost $60.00 for us to even look at it". I think I'll just try it out myself. Must fix soon for road trip!! HELP!!

Re: radio won't turn up, nothing from front pass side

Ok if you can, pull out the radio. disconnect the plugs off the back. Go here to find the wireing diagram of the 2003 trail blazer as I think it is the same as the 2002. Take a 1 and a half volt to 9 volt battery, and go to each speaker pair and touch the speaker wires to the battery, on and off to see if you hear a click out of the speakers. If you do, You know the speakers are good, if you do not hear a click when you touch the battery to the speaker leads, then of course the speaker or the wiring is bad. It would probably be less expensive to get another radio installed then it would be to get this one repaired or to get another one from the junk yard. Good Luck

Do I need a housing to replace stock stereo? Or will this just fit in

There are two types of receivers. Double-DIN and single-DIN. Double-DIN is easy to see as it is DOUBLE the SINGLE-DIN's height. If your vechile is a single-DIN it will only be about 3-4 inches tall, while the DOUBLE-DIN is doulbe that 6-8inches tall.

If you have a DOUBLE-DIN in your car and are installing a SINGLE-DIN you will need a housing.

If you have a SINGLE-DIN in the vechile you will not be able to install a DOUBLE-DIN without heavy moddification and cutting.

Please rate if this helped :)

That is going to be a touch install if memory serves as your vehicle is not double din. Much easier to sell that and get a single din radio and install kit.

I am trying install a cd player in a buick centry 2000 what do

You need an adapter for a double din to a single din radio. You can get these at almost any place that sells car audio. Yours is a common adapter they are about $15.

Pioneer Super Tuner 3 Removal

If it's been installed with the original DIN mount, there are 2 small flat clips that slide in a small slot on each side of the radio. The 2 pieces of metal are pushed in to release the clips holding the radio in the bracket. Then the radio pulls out

Those clips come with the Pioneer stereo but should be available from a place that sells/installs car audio

No sound to the in car speakers from my alpine cda-9827 cd player

What kind of car did you install this in? Did it have a factory radio in it? If I had to take a guess I would think that there is a factory amp that you may have hooked the blue wire from the alpine deck to. If this is the case when you switch to CD the alpine deck turns off the power to the power antenna lead(blue wire) and thus your factory amp. If this is the case hook the factory amp turn on to the blue and white wire and you should be good to go.
