The dryer has been very loud the last few loads and finally died. It runs, gets hot, but drum doesn't turn. I called around and was told that I probably needed the rear bearing kit. The person that told me had no idea if a 'normal' person would be able to install it or if I would need special equipment or more than 1 person to handle the job. Would appreciate any information if you've dealt with the problem. Thanks!!!

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, model# FEQ1442ES, will not stay running. Please check to make sure the door is staying closed. If the door is opening in mid-cycle, then the dryer will stop running. Also, make sure the plug is in the socket tightly. Your dryer could be shaking the plug loose, which could possibly be causing it to stop running. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
It sounds like something has come loose or some item was placed in the unit accidentally and it got lodged in the drum. You will need to start by taking the front cover off and looking around the drum.
Most of your fuses for a Frigidaire dryer are upper right hand side of the rear bulkhead. Here is a westinghouse dryer video I made In the video I look for failed components and show the various parts, explain their function, and location.
mostly the noise your hearing is the drum running on the side of machine .the baering/bearings have collapsed in your drier . Most driers these days have the bearing encased in the outer drum and i mean molded to the outer drum . You cant replace them and the manufacturer doesn`t really want you to . Sorry about that = looks like a new drier for you .
