Ignitor glows but short cycles

Ignitors don't "blow flames". But a defective ignitor can glow but not draw enough current to allow the gas valve to open to the burners.
Replace the ignitor. It's the "weakest link" and most likely part to wear out through use in the ignition system.

if it gas and the bake isn't working correctly, first thing that usually goes is the ignitor, sometimes the ignitor will glow but won't lite the flame,it works on amps. a flat ignitor takes 3.2 amps to open the gas valve a round one os 2.5 the easiest way to check it is start the oven,if you can't see the ignitor glowing orange then remove the racks and the floor of the oven so you can see it,when the ignitor starts to glow it should ignite the flame within 40 seconds,if not change out the ignitor,if the ignitor doesn't glow then you need a meter to check it for continuity, disconnect the ignitor wires and check it with a meter, set it on say 20k ohms, touch the leeds to the ignitor wires,if it stays on 1 then the ignitor is bad,if you get any other reading other than 1 then it's good and you have a problem somewhere else but like i said most of the time it will be the ignitor.

I have a frigidaire gas oven Model Number FGF366ECC. The oven does not get hot.

9 times out of 10 the oven ignitor is the problem see if the ignitor glows when you turn the oven on it should be a bright yellow glow and not a dingy orange glow if it does not glow at all the ignitor could be burned out

How to check the igniter (continuity?)

If there is power to the ignitor and it does not glow the ignitor is bad. If it does glow, place a clamp on amp meter over one wire of the ignitor and turn the circuit on. If the ignitor reads less than 3 amps, replace the ignitor.
If the ignitor glows and registers 3 amps or more you must check the flame sensor for correct operation. If the ignitor and flame sensor are both good, replace the gas valve coils.

Ignitor does not glow

the flame sensor rarely goes bad
if the ignitor is not glowing
then thats the problem
take an amp reading it shoud be between
2.7 and 3.6 out of that range it will not glow
if your not getting a reading you need to chase your voltage l1 is you most likely culprit

Oven does not heat. Glow bar ignitor glows but no flame.

usually this means that your ignitor is weak and needs to be replaced. When the ignitor glows and NO gas flows through you need a new ignitor.

There is no heat being produced

HI, Remove the front lower panel. Start the dryer and see if the ignitor glows. If it glows but the gas valve does not open, Change the coils on top of the gas valve.
If the ignitor does not glow, test the ignitor for 120V. If there is voltage to the ignitor but no glow, change the ignitor.
If there is no viltage to the ignitor, check continuity on the thermostats and the fuse that are located on the blower housing. Also test the sensor located on the burner.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Glow coil glows but does not ignite

Without an amp meter to measure the drop on the coil I use a long screwdriver and tap the handle end on the valve coils while the ignitor is glowing. IF the burner lights the problem is the ignitor. Either way its either a coil or the ignitor.

GE gas dryer, no heat, new ignitor

Hi!! make sure that you have 120 volts going to the glow ignitor.the gas valve will not turn on the gas if the ignitoe wont glow..if it glows the check yout coil boosters they are round and are located by the gas valve.then if not you have a bad timer.they are usually round and are black..good luck..

Oven wont start

The control sends voltage down to the ignitor, the ignitor glows red, when and if the ignitor gets hot enough it opens the gas valsve to let gas in which is then lit by the ignitor.

If ignitor glows either the ignitor is bad or the oven valve

If the ignitor does not glow then either the ignitor is broken, the control is not sending voltage down, or the oven valve is bad and not sending voltage to the ignitor.

In most cases it is the ignitor which is the cheapest of the three parts
