Hi,
If the power light of WGps606 is flashing that means your AP is faulty, ig you try to hard reset it and powercycle it for 1 min.
if the light is still flashing thn this is a faulty unit.
If u hv warranty on it call Netgear - 1888-NETGEAR for replacement
or if u dont have warranty then go a new unit./

Reset the Printer to Factory Default Settings Restore factory settings Restoring the factory-set defaults returns most of the settings to the factory defaults. It will not reset the page count, tray size, or language. To restore the product to the factory-default settings, follow these steps.
  1. Turn the product off. Disconnect the power cable from the product for 30 seconds and then reconnect.
  2. Turn the product on while you press and hold the Resume c02469297.gif button for 10-20 seconds. The Attention c02469293.gif light turns on.
  3. Release the Resume c02469297.gif button. The Attention c02469293.gif and Ready c02469296.gif lights cycle while the product restores factory defaults.

How do I connect with my WGPS606 if there is no setup cd and the default ip does not work? My router has encryption and the WGPS needs the info.

you need to set your print server for dhcp, you need to log in and verify the settings OR just set it back to default because dhcp is default. gl

I cannot conect with the default ip for the WGPS606 netgeat print server!?

Check the IP address of your computer and see if it's on the same range of the IP address of the printer server.

Ex. print server IP: 192.168.1.4
Your computer must have 192.168.1.XXX

Note: X can be any no. from 1 to 254

To assign an IP address on your computer:

Start > Control Panel > Network connection

Go to the properties of the local area connection then click on TCP/IP tab.

You can now assign an IP address on your computer with the same range of the print server.

I need IP address for print server WGPS606

The default IP address of the print serer is 192.168.0.102

This print server works as DHCP client. it will automtically pick an IP from the DHCP, unless assigned statically.

Netgear Wireless Print Server WGPS606 won't install correctly

I finally got my WGPS606 installed - unfortunately, it's just on one computer so far, but that computer is on the network and is not wired. Here are a few tips:

1. hold the reset button (little pinhole) until you see some action going on with the lights (I forget exactly what happened, but after a while there was a change) - this served to "reset" my WGPS606's IP Address, which I had changed during setup.

2. connect your computer to the server with an ethernet cable and type in http://192.168.0.102 (the default IP Address of the server)

3. login with the default username and password:
username: admin
password: password

4. once logged in, you will see all of the WGPS606's information. At that point, you should be able to change the IP Address of the server to what you want it to be, but I think you can proceed to run the setup on the installation CD (or the installation program from the WGPS606's Netgear website) and it should be recognized on the wireless network.

In my case, I want to mention that when the initial setup failed for me, I used the MAC address on the back of the server. After steps 1-4, my server was finally on the wireless network by the installation program, however, the MAC address was 1 digit off from what was on the server. The MAC address on the back of the server was the PHYSICAL MAC address, whereas the WIRELESS MAC address was one digit higher (last set of numbers. For instance, on the back of the server, the MAC address ended in ":01" and I found out that this was the physical MAC address. The wireless MAC address was exactly the same, except the last 2 digits were ":02."

Another thing to note was that after the server was recognized, it told me to reserve a specific IP Address other than what I had previously set - I didn't realize that it chose it for you. Anyway, just keep that in mind. After this, everything worked like a charm - well, I have yet to set up the other computers to connect to the server, but at least I have one!

Hope this helps!
