The unit name is part of the boot sequence, it should go beyond that and boot up completely. If it gets stuck there, there is surely some problem. Maybe a depleted internal battery, I don't know. Ask a local service center, maybe there's a combination of buttons you could check out while on the phone prior to bringing it in for repair...
SOURCE: I wish to know how
Usually there are a number of screws from the bottom to remove. SOmetimes they hide some under a label or rubber feet. The top should remove and pone must be careful of the cables from teh top to the base of the unit.
Keep track of where screws go as often they have different length and using the wrong length when re-assmbling caan cause trouble.

Make sure you use the ORIGINAL AC adapter with the unit. It takes a 9VAC one.
The adapter for the GR09 will NOT work and will act the way your unit is acting.
SOURCE: need original manual
Hi Bubba, check the following documentation:
SH-32_Operation manual.pdf
Quick reference guide

Roland support page
You will need acrobat reader to open the files.
I will be grateful if you can give proper rating to the solution.
Thanks.

Try a "factory reset" on the unit. Make sure you hold the buttons till unit confirms the reset.
