SOURCE: I have a Toro 524 with Tecumseh engine, model

The high speed mixture screw is initially set at 1 & 1/2 turns out. Then adjust it to give good acceleration and top speed, while not closing the screw more than you need to. The low speed mixture screw is set at 3/4 of a turn out. Adjust that, to give a smooth idle. The 3rd screw, the idle speed screw, is set to give a low idle speed without stalling.

Toro CCR 2450 Snowblower has new plug & gas but will only start with added starter fluid then will run until trying to start again.

Question edited for clarity.

When you put it away at the end of last snow season, I expect you just rolled it to the corner of the garage and left it until now? The two stroke gas in the carburetor, went bad and gummy. It starts on starter fluid because no gas is coming from the carb.

Can't get to the coil in a 38-1-20 Toro snowblower how do I

That's an older Tecumseh engine. The magneto and points are underneath the flywheel.

See Taryl Dactyl instruction video on how to remove a flywheel without a puller and 100s of small engine repair videos.

https://youtu.be/SYVjw7fw8RU

Youll need specs for point gap and timing instructions. See free manuals at

Parts diagrams.

Toro Ccr3650 snowblower . Started fine but backfired when choke was off Ran pretty good at 1/2 choke Removed carb and throughly cleaned. No change. Replaced carb with new one same results. Please help

there's no adjustments on these carbs. possible air leak around the intake or crank seals. also check the flywheel key and see if it's partially sheared. and was the new carb really new or just refurbished? I have lots of customers "clean" their carbs. but they are not really clean.

My toro 724 2 stage snowblower wil run fine until it gets hot. It will die and I have to choke it to restart it will run for about a minute and die again

I would suggest if there is an adjustment screw on the carb turn it open a little bit at a time till it keeps running. Left is open. If that does not work take the fuel jet out and clean it. If there is a fuel cup on the bottom of the carb remove it and clean it out as well. Try the adjusting screw first if you can. Make sure you have fresh clean gas as well.

How do I adjust the belt ona Toro 726 snowblower

There should be a tension pulley between the main pulleys. Usually it is mounted on the side wall and can be adjusted with a nut and bolt.

Toro 824 snowblower starts fine but won't keep running and new gas new plug as well cleaned the whole carb

Is there an adjustment screw on the carburetor if there is turn it out a little at a time. This sets the amount of gas going into the carb and lets it run the way it should. I hope you have one as this is the answer to many engine problems. When you say you cleaned the whole carb did you clean the fuel jet. It won't run if the jet is dirty.

38120 toro snowblower won't start. The carb is filling with gas. New diaghram, needle and seat.It was running then stopped. I do have a spark with new spark plug. What could cause this

Have you checked the coil?
To check the coil. Put a spanner or tell someone to hold something by the spark gap and make sure they don't hold it in a way they get electric shocked.

And you should see a spark. If not try the metal to the frame ( be careful)
And should see spark.

Snowblower leaks gas on garage floor

Is it coming from the carb or tank? Either way replace the fuel lines, they crack an get pin holes in them an cause problems. If it comes from the carb get a rebuild kit an, very cheap, an replace the seals.

I have a toro 3450 snowblower and it is going to full throttle when it starts and stays there. When I tuch the lever on the carb it comes back down to idle but not until I manually touch it. When I shut it...

Sounds like the adjustments need to be worked on outside the carb. If they are dry put a little bit of light oil or even WD40 on all the moving parts on the carb. Sometimes they just get dry and a little rusty from sitting.
