Try loosening the chain adjustment (bar) screw or locate and clear as needed any material found to be caught between the drive sprocket and chain.

When engine is running the clutch will not turn. What could the problem be?

Sounds silly but have to activated the chainbrake by accident.? The black handguard by the top handle is the chainbrake.! Pull it back to de-activate the safety chain brake. It works by activating a brake band around the clutch drum, stopping the drive but the engine still runs, however if you try and rev it the engine will struggle under load because the clutch is trying to drive a drum which is being held by the brake.

Was cutting a limb and the chain stopped turning-What's the problem?

Equipped with a chain brake? Did the handle accidently move backward and apply the brake? If this is not your problem, possible clutch failure. Did you run out of blade oil? Will the engine pull over?

Motor runs well but chain wont move,l it only 3 months old what next?

Make sure that you can move the chain by hand and that it is being properly oiled. Remove the bar and chain after releasing the chain brake. Clean the side of the engine where the bar fits to, then start the engine--oil should ooze out of the port. Wash out the interior of the clutch with spray carburetor cleaner to clean away excess oil accumulation. Clean the drive end of the bar small oil passages that run from the large holes out to the chain groove on each edge. If oil oozed out during the run test, reassemble everything making sure the chain teeth cut toward you on the bottom run. Adjust the chain up to the bar, but not so tight that you can't move the chain by hand. Tighten the cover fasteners and recheck the chain tension. Start the engine and run the bar tip near some cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil after several moments. Hope this helps!

Husqvarna chainsaw 235e starts but the chain won't move. Maybe the brake is stuck??

Does the brake seem to 'snap-over' like it should? Pull it back to release position, and remove the drive cover. Check the entire brake for debris accumulation or bent/damaged brake band. Check the chain to see if it is being oiled. Remove the bar/chain and clean the entire assembly, particularly the small oil passages in the drive end of the bar. Start the engine and watch for oil oozing out of the small side port where the bar fits. If ok, reassemble the bar/chain. If no oil comes out, investigate the oil pump, lines, and filter/valve in the oil tank. Mount the side cover, but leave the fasteners finger tight. (The chain teeth cut toward you on the bottom run) Tighten the chain until the lower run comes up to the bar, but can still be turned by hand. Tighten the fasteners and recheck the tension. Trip the chain brake and make sure it locks the chain, then release it and make sure it turns freely. Check the chain oiling by running the bar tip at speed near some cardboard--it should leave a thin line of oil on the board. Hope this helps!

Just got MCC4516F chainsaw.Used it for 30 mins. Stopped working. Chain brake does not engage or release. Chain does not move. Motor runs but will not engage to make blade move. Seems like chain brake...

You have obviously jammed or broken the chain on the inside of the motor. Take it to be repaired, or try reparing yourself by opening up the engine casing yourself.

I can start up the chainsaw, but chain doesn't spin

Is the chain brake on? Pull the lever your knuckles are against toward you to unlock the anti-kickback brake.
