Most likely getting to hot. Make sure nothing is sitting on top of the case or even take the cover off and see if it overheats.

Hi, i have a Denon PMA 735 R amplifier which shuts down when volume increases suddenly.

Sounds like you have output transistor problems. Does it have a red protection light that comes on when it shuts down? If it does it will need serviced.

Why is the Denon S102 dvd player freezing? ... My Denon S-102 does not load CD's. No problems with DVD's and other functions.

This is basically a problem with the optical pick up. Try wipe it with dry cotton wool. If this does not work, change the optical pick up altogether. Make sure you replace with similar part.

I have an AVR 988 system that will only shut down manually. I have shut down the system, changed batteries in my remote. Neither solved the problem. Any ideas?

Its a common problem with this Denon model series 1508,1708,988 the trouble lies with the power supply voltage going low. Usually its either the 15 or -15 volt that goes low. If either voltage goes low it will trigger the protection circuit hence the unit will shut down.

Denon avr-1706 receiver just shuts off

This sounds like the amps protector circuit has been activated due to thermal overload. switch it off for an hour or more to let it cool down, make sure your spkrs are connected properly, don't parallel. Try using a fan on the unit to get that heat away. Get a techie friend to give the insides a once over, and clear away any dust that has built up.

hope this is of some help,
Cheers Kimbo.

Denon AVR 3600 sound gone

this happened to me once and I found that my reciever would just shut down. make sure that you have plenty of space above the amp. it may be over heating and shutting down on you and when it cools down, it turns back on. there will most likely the "overload" light will be lit when it shuts down the audio.

hope that helps

Denon AVR 2807 with Bose Acoustimass 15

Well,i can tell you are not very focus, cause you posted Denon AVR-2807 with Bose AC 15 problem, but under your details, you put down AVR-5807!
First of all,it is so unfortunate that you are NOT able to gain and experience to true ability in sound for this wonderful receiver when you are using a dual tweeters speakers and expect to have good sound separation as a TWO WAY speakers(a tweeter and a midrange-for true high frequency and mid frequency sound separation.)
Secondly, you have defeated the audio configuration of the Denon AVR-2807,since all your speakers are control BY the Bose subwoofer.
Now,i could show you a way to hook this up,and it doesn't matter how you connect them, they are the "bicycle tires" installed with a "Porche"engine if you know what i mean.
If you want a good recommendation for your "beast",i will more than happy to show you the way!
Cheers,

Denon receiver follow up

A sound spike should not heat up the unit enough to shut it down. There is another problem. What is the time frame for the shutdown? Is it only after the unit has been running for a while?

Denon AVR-1803 shuts down

I am a Tech in Michigan and have worked on lots and Lots of Denon AV Receivers. These units have Protection circuits for Overcurrent, Dc Protect, 15v Regulator inbalance, Rail Voltage Inbalance, Low Ac Voltage, Low Standby Voltage and Thermal Protection just to name the ones I remember. My guess is you Probably have either Poor Intermittent solder connections or Amp is not Ventillating Properly. Make sure you leave room above Receiver to Vent and You are using no Less then 6 ohm speaker Impedance per ch. Refer to Speaker Impedance chart on back panel . kstahl65@att.net
