SOURCE: muffler screws are stripped out of husky 350

Most chainsaw shops will install a Helicoil cheaper than you can buy the tools. If I am not mistaken this is a common problem on that saw. Husky dealer might be best option.

SOURCE: I took off the bar

The bar bolt should be an interference fit in the crankcase, if it has fallen out there is now a tollerence issue with the composit crankcsae, start by removing the oil tank filler cap, drain out the chain oil, now shake the machine until the bolt falls out of the filler opening, you now need to increase the diameter of the bolt where it fits into the crankcase or it will just fall out again, take a good centre punch and punch the shank of the bar bolt where it fits into the tank ( this will help to hold it tight in the crankcase ) now mark the threaded end of the bar bolt so as you know where top dead centre is ( you need to do this because the bolt has a square on the back which must fit into a squre socket on the inside of the oil tank ) there is a number of ways to re align it back into the bar pad, a magnet on a rod fed through the oil filler hole, or feed a lenght of thin wall tubing through the bar pad hole and out through the oil filler hole, push the bar bolt thread into the tubing, now pull it back through.Once the thread comes through use the bar nut and a spacer to pull it fully home, remember to get the top dead centre mark you did earlier at the top before pulling the bolt fully in, or the square on the back will not sit into its socket .

We're can I purchase the muffler and everything that goes with it

Any chain saw store should be able to get what you need. Check what kind of saw you have, model number, etc. and then use the internet to find a way to order parts.

Sthil and Husqvarna are two different brands.

Husqvanrna saws are often refereed to as Huskys

How to replace regulator on husky air scout model 41004

On my air scout the regulator cap, which is threaded to receive the bolt attached to the regulator knob was stripped. It's cheapo metal. I removed that and the knob (which is held onto the bolt with a smaller reverse-threaded screw, and replaced the cap using a larger diameter bolt I place of the knob. Works.

I have A husgvarna 350 chainsaw that got real hot the muffler screw came off causing the muffler to wiggle to a slant and melt my plastic right above the bar. What should I do that is very unusual.

There was an issue with the muffler bolts comeing loose, to that end a muffler with a third fixing hole was introduced, if the oil tank below the muffler is melted to the point that the chain oil is leaking out, then it will need a new crankcase.

The muffler hanger broke on my toyota corolla, how do i replace the hanger?

Roll Your OwnThis model's muffler hanger (the metal strap holding the muffler itself onto the car body) is a two-piece design held together with two bolts. The lower piece, shaped like a broad U, can break loose if one of the bolts rusts away. Replacement parts from the local auto store come as a single piece and are not an exact match. This type of replacement will require some determined work to fit once you have removed all of the entire original strap components. And it will cost $30 plus a trip to the hardware store.

If the original U-shaped lower piece is lost or too damaged to reattach, it is a simple matter to fashion a new one with items available at any Home Depot and costing about $6. 1.5-inch wide galvanized metal strips with a row of holes down the middle come in 4 foot lengths, and metric nuts and bolts are often in the same section. Assuming none of the bolts are left, you'll need two 8mm 1.25 bolts, two nuts of the same size, and a few washers big enough to fit easily over the bolts.

Once home, a simple pliers and hacksaw are all you need to bend and shape the galvanized strip to fit around the lower half of the muffler, which should be about two feet in length. After that, it's just a matter of supporting the dangling muffler (a jack or a piece of wood) and screwing the new piece into each end of the original upper half of the hanger. A number 13 metric wrench will do the trick. If you're comfortable with basic tools, this repair will take 20 minutes and outlast your Corolla. -dan parker

Muffler keeps vibrating off

On your saw it IS a problem. The Husqvarna 350 has a long history of this very problem. I recommend you contact a local Husqvarna dealer, there may a warranted repair, at the very least they have been dealing with problem long enough to know how to provide a long term repair.

I havea husqvarna 350 and have owned it for around four years. Now the muffler keeps falling off. How can I keep this from happening again?

I think if you do some research you will find this is common on that saw. Contact your Husky dealer about a repair (maybe gratis). If nothing else they provide some guidance. Most saw shops will install a helicoil cheaper than you can buy the tools.

Muffler screws are stripped out of husky 350 chainsaw.

Go to and see if their product would help you.We used to use heli-coils in our saw's but they just would not last very long.Have had very good results with the ezlok insert combined with a makeshift front muffler bracket.

How do i repair a broken air regulator on a husky portable air

Just to add to the posted advice which would have prevented the repair I'm having to make and the things I'm learning the hard way as I'm fixing the stripped regulator on my H1826F from 2008...

here's the damage:

Other thing that was tricky is getting the cover off the top to get at the guts - most of the holes held screws - easy to get off, but the bottom holes were tricky as the bolts are so far in it's hard to tell what you are dealing with... here's what I found after I broke things (gotta love superglue - it's all better now):

once you get the bolts turning, loosen them till the cover will pull apart and you'll get them both off in one piece, threads intact.
