-   Did the same: put on bottom and now it's fused to the oven floor.

-   I have the same problem. My oven was put in on April 22, 09. I wanted to make a nice dinner, but didn't want any spills in my new oven. I put the foil down, as I have always done, to keep the bottom clean. Of course I just read the book and it says not to do that. I removed the foil, but some of it stuck in the center of the bottom of the oven. I called the GE Answer Number and they were not able to help me. They did say not to use my self-clean feature on the oven. Now, I'm not even sure if I can use the oven without making it worse. Thank goodness I have a double oven. Hopefully someone will find a solution for removing the foil. Gambergirl-   Gambergirl

-   I have the same problem. My stove is very new. I have tried everything I can think of but nothing is working. The aluminum foil is on top of the element cover in the oven. I have ordered a replacement. It will cost about 85.00 dollars plus tax plus delivery charge from Sears. That is very expensive. I wish I had the answer!!

(Wear a professional n95 mask and rubber gloves). Use a straight razor and scrape off as much foil as possible. Get a hold of Mercuric or sulfuric acid. BE CAREFUL not to spill anywhere, work close to a stainless steal sink. Poor a little in a small glass container and bring over stove porcelain surface. Pour the acid onto the foil and wait 3-4 minutes, use paper towel to wipe off the acid, and then a soapy wet rag. Repeat process until all foil is dissolved. Then wash surface thoroughly and repeatedly with a soapy dish towel. Once complete run water in the sink for 5 minutes till any possible remaining accid is flushed from the sink. The foil is gone and the porcelain is preserved. Works great! (Don't breathe the fumes and ventelate the area or move the stove outside)

I ran the self cleaning option on my oven. It completed and everything seemed to be fine. I tried turning the oven on to preheat this morning and the "clean" light blinks continuously and the oven will not heat up. I have unplugged it for several hours and retried only to get the same response. Please help!
