Question about Coby Usa Coby Electronics TFTV992 9 Inch Atsc Digital Portable Tv

I just received a Coby TFTV992 9" portable TV. I'm trying to tune the TV channels without success.

Good afternoon. My name is Carlos and I'm writing from Brazil. I just received a Coby TFTV992 9" portable TV bought at B&H PhotoVideo. I'm trying to tune the TV channels without success. I made the tuning procedure many times and it didn't work neither through "air" (with the built in antenna or the external antenna) nor through "cable" (with a cable that is working fine with another LCD TV). After all the tuning procedures, the Coby TFTV992 shows the on display message: PLEASE RUN CHANNEL AUTO SCAN. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks. Carlos Kulps carlos.kulps@globo.com

1st click the "mode" button on the TV or remote then use the vol. up and down buttons to scroll around until you get to DTV mode then press "enter" on the remote you should get a message "please run channel auto scan" . click "Menu" on the remote the "Picture" screen will come up, keep clicking the vol. up button to scroll past "Audio" then "Setup" then to "Channel" then use the CH up or down buttons to scroll to "Air" click OK , then use the CH down button to scroll to "Scan all channels" then click the vol. up button. it then should start scanning, FYI you have to be fast!

Trying to tune tv to channel 3,but it doesnt want to stop on 3. goes all around the dial will stop on 2or4 but not on3.

Hi,
Did you try to manual tune/search the channel? If you are using the autosearch/tune feature and the signal is not strong it will simply skip the channel. Find channel 3 with manual search and then save it. Good luck!

To see if the problem is with your remote control, go to the receiver and use the channel up/down buttons on the receiver itself. If you can change your channels with the buttons on the receiver, the batteries in your remote control probably need to be changed.

If you can't change channels from the receiver, turn off the receiver. Then unplug it for at least 15 seconds. Plug the receiver back it and turn it on. Again, try changing channels from the receiver itself.

Tune to a channel, and while programming is playing, try tuning to the missing channel by entering the channel number on the remote control keypad to see if channels change. Do not try to select the channel from a channel list, program guide, or favorites list.

If this approach takes you to the correct channel, you need to adjust your favorites list function. Press the "guide" button on your remote. Look for a button on your remote called "fav" or "list." Press it several times and watch for an indication at the top of the guide that you are moving from "all channels" to a particular favorites list.

If you are locked on one channel only, your Channel Lock feature is likely active. Consult your owner's manual to unlock the rest of your channels. See your owner's manual for information on managing favorite channel lists and locking out channels. Enter your password, if necessary.

LG 42LK450 flat screen.I tried auto tuning but didn't pickup channel 31. I tried manual tuning with no result. The old style TV I had prior to this could pick up channel 31 so it isn't a reception...

If your trying to receive over the air make sure the TV is not set to a Cable mode, if your on Cable your new TV is most likely a ATSC tuner (digital) and the cable company can map channels any way they want. If your old TV had the older style cable tuner, the lineup will be different.
HDTV has level thresholds, if the signal is weak you wont see anything, but the old TV would.
Without knowing much about where or what sort of TV your using, these are my best ideas.

Hello,

that is not going to be a problem. To those it happened to, the TV has a fault that is why. It is not that it happens to all Coby KTFDVD1093.

Electronics in general does not have 100% assurance.

There is nothing to worry about, you can go ahead and purchase your Coby KTFDVD1093.

I hope the above is clear. If not, please let me know.

Regards.

Well since all TV is now broadcast in High Definition that might be why you are no longer able to tune in a station. You will need the converter box.
