Question about Philips GoGear SA5285/37 Digital Media Player

1 Answer

Sa5285 just purchased philips sa5285...it appears that the only options for a screensaver is clock and song details, not a blank screen (like other players). Is this true? It doesn't seem like the battery would last very long with the screen lit up the entire time that the player is in use. In fact, the first use seemed to yield only 7 hours or so of battery life. I haven't had a chance to fully test it yet. Am I doing something wrong?

Is is possible to put a photo as a background or as screensaver?

Hi,
There is no option in the NWZ-E344 Walkman Player to set an image as Screensaver. You can either set a Blank Screen as Screen saver or the Clock. You can press and hold the BACK/HOME button, select Settings-->Common Settings-->ScreenSaver-->Type-->Desivered type(Clock/Blank).
Thanks for using FixYa

Philips GoGear 8GB stall at update screen

I just repeated the steps above on more than one computer until it finally connected and showed the songs, then I deleted everything, restarted it and voila` all the menu's showed up. Then the first thing I did was reset to factory settings. After that it worked perfectly. I don't really know what combination really fixed it, but I kept hitting the reset button, restarting while holding down the volume + key and the <loop> key until it eventually responded.

Cannot find this hardware

You accidentally deleted a key INF file on the player. Try running a Repair in the most recent version of the Philips Device Manager from Philips website. There is no guarantees that it will work, however. The newer Philips players are easy to mess up, because of the way they want you to add and delete songs.
